I did mine, I used the Curt hitch and it took me about and hour to do because I did not have any jackstands. There is not much room underneath the car while it is on all fours!

I hate to rez a dead thread but I am interested in doing this to my genjuan. I'm looking to tow a dirtbike behind my speed, don't need a big trailer or anything. Might even get a custom trailer made with three straight rails that is only used for hauling dirtbikes. I can't seem to find any types of hitches that seem to fit/say for sure that they fit. Anyone else have any luck on this??? Nothing I can find online shows the tow limits for something like this
http://www.amazon.com/113833-Class-Trailer-Hitch-Old-Style/dp/B002ENZCH2http://www.amazon.com/113833-Class-Trailer-Hitch-Old-Style/dp/B002ENZCH2
I also have no idea on fitment if I were to get a CBE.

EDIT:
Also just found this one online, it appears that it would fit but I am not certain.

Hidden Hitch Class 3 4 Round Tube Trailer Hitch 2" Receiver 3500 Capacity | eBay
I have this exact hitch on my car... I use it for hauling my dirt bikes as well. I have a 2010 though. I think it does fit both gen 1 and 2 though. max tongue weight is 200 lbs. and the GTW is 2000 lbs.

Only issue I had is the exhaust rubs a bit on it.. But i have aftermarket cp-e triton. Iif you have stock exhaust you won't have any issues.

Trailer Hitch - Curt (11383)

this fits.. I recommend this one. all you see at the back of the car is the square hole. The rest is completely hidden.

That looks perfect for what I'd be using it for, just a titch longer trailer @Zoom66; . @sh4d0w; the one from amazon is the one you are referring to correct? Thanks for the responses guys! My only gripe is it not being a 2 inch receiver. You guys have good luck finding a hitch and parts easily with the 1.25"?

Towed with my 2007. i used to tow a my ATV trailer but also a 800kg camping trailer before my wife got the cx7. it drives well without issues but at the end of last summer i discovered a toasted luk flywheel. Both part of the FW was louse against each other. Was it because of my abuse and the BT or because of the heavier load from the hitch...I don't know...I replaced it with a solid fw and a stronger clutch and i will propably be towing small trailer occasionnaly again...
The engine can do it sometimes better than manny SUV and stop it quick also. Some, drag race the transmission with a lot more power than me without gear/axles issues.
I don't think their is any other weakness on the drive train to be aware of, just make sure the hitch stay attached to the car

I posted my pic on post #42 but with out any details. So I'll share a bit. My 2012 has the hidden hitch. I got them from Custom Hitch and Trailer

Here is my order with the part numbers. I pulled 3 different trailers from FL to NC and back when I needed it back in 2012.

I will say though, a year later when I was getting and oil change and the car was on a full lift, we noticed that my left end link bolt was sheared off and the nut was gone. I was able to get it replaced under my 3 year factory warranty and I still had my hitch on the car. I didn't get any flak what so ever for it so just wanted to put that out there.

Here was my order from 2012 fyi. Hope it helps.

Order Details:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quantity: 1
Item: Hidden Hitch 63813 Hitch Ball (63813)

Unit Price: $12.95
Total Price: $12.95
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quantity: 1
Item: Tow Ready 119176 ModuLite Protector (119176)

Unit Price: $37.97
Total Price: $37.97
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quantity: 1
Item: Hidden Hitch 60259 Class I Custom Fit Insta-Hitch Trailer Hitch
(60259)

Unit Price: $115.75
Total Price: $115.75
------------------------------------------------------------------------
subtotal: $166.67
sales tax: $10.00
------------------------------------------------------------------------
total: $176.67

Oh and the modulator was for the LED tails, I believe there was a difference so it wouldn't blow the LED's when you tap into them.
