Default Adding more voices to navigation

Hey guys,

I was bored and playing around with the SD card for my 2013 TomTom navigation and found how to add secondary voices (pretty simple), here's a zip of large collection along with a brief how to:

I have enjoyed having homer be my navigator, been on a simpsons rerun kick lately lol.

1)Download and extract the TomTom Voices (hosted the zip on my google drive)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7H...it?usp=sharing

2)When your flash drive loads, open the folder "voices" in the root directory (see pic below)

3)Add the corresponding *.chk and *.vif data files

4)Place the SD card back into your car, and select the voice desired either from startup or from the settings menu (mine occured during startup because I also updated my maps)

This was just a quick little write up, I would still like to try to play with the splash screen (looks like its in the "photos" location) and try playing around with MioPocket 4.0 (popular gps unlock for the generic Chinese units). I would like to edit the autorun file to point to the Mio executable instead of the "autoplay.exe" (once i grab a spare SD card), hopefully it will potentially run Mio (it has a really good gui). Again, just stuff I am playing with...well see..

This write-up is pretty basic, but hopefully it helps someone!

I use to do this to my Garmin, Snoop Dogg was awesome.. I really wish they made an offensive Samuel L. Jackson one, I'd actually pay for that. Garmin started adding hidden verification for their voices. It wasn't a simple copy and paste on the new ones. Took some finagling.

Is the NB1 Windows CE based?

I'm reading that TomTom is Linux based, not sure if that means that the NB1 is linux based though.

Unfortunately I don't believe it is, I tried editing the autorun file and replacing the executable, but it didn't alter how the TomTom booted. Its possible the executable is for some software on the PC. All it did was ask for the location of the maps, I believe I read somewhere here that all the root files are loaded on flash memory somewhere on the unit. It appears the SD card is only for map data and other peripheral information (compared to my old unit where the SD contained all the root info).

But it is still pretty cool to have homer give you guidance, and its a very simple add-on

What about using the Flash drive installation method?

Looking over it, I don't think we have access to it, we need to know the name of the startup file that runs when the unit is turned on. Someone would have to get a dump of the system before we could tinker with it.

EDIT: I was just thinking. If we run an update on the SD card, I wonder if we could change any files....hmmmmm

But Finally! I can have Captain Jean Luc Piccard talk to me when I'm driving. I want him to say "Numbah 1, Engage!" as I go WOT on the freeway onramp!

When trying to disable the safety notice, i found this link to your google drive with a lot of voices, but the link is no longer valid. I've owned my 2013 MS3 for about 2 years but this is the first time I have experimented with putting my SD card into the PC.

Do you still have all the voices somewhere you can upload for me? I also saw you experimenting with the splash screen, did you ever figure out how to change it? Any other cool things you've done? I'm really trying to disable my legal notice every time i get in the car and choose NAV. Any help or suggestions you can give are appreciated! Thanks!

As a side note, I amo currently running "App 10.852.1472547.542(0) (1811, 1/17/2014), OS 1440787
