@aromig; mentioned that it's supposed to work correcrly out of the box. Maybe there's a setting that turns the feature ON/OFF? Otherwise, contact Eonon. They reply reasonably quick.

Yeah, it's supposed to work with the Analog Bose System.

Thanks guys. I am really a noob, but feels like I am experiencing same issue like everyone else. Need to splicethose RCAs. System works, but not properly. Messaged Eonon and will wait for their response.

Is there an option for Bose other then Analog in our cars? I was reading their whole line about how the steering wheel controls for bluetooth will work if the controls are part of the same line as volume and we have to check each car to see if it is that way. I don't see how that could be different from one car to the next. just like the Bose, I wonder if this is going to end up being an advertised feature that doesn't actually work just like the steering wheel control features they advertise.

On a side note, it looks like on that other forum they are putting together a group buy for the radio, no mention on what the discount price will be yet.

Update..
Heard back from Eonon, there is no other way to make the unit work properly, but splicing up RCAs.
They consider it plug and play for Bose system. Which it is, but sounds loud and horrible. So I did the RCAs and I am happy with the sound. That how it should have been pre wired from the factory. Overall happywith the unit, but a lot to be desired.

Sorry to rez this old thread, but it makes more sense than to start a new one.

Anyone have the upgraded D5163Z Headunit from the older D5163F one? Reading through this thread and it seems like a decent aftermarket unit with minor issues if any. Any input on the upgraded unit is welcome!

My D5163 has stopped reading micro SD cards and the bluetooth is not usable for phone calls. Should I just scrap this unit? I contacted Eonon last year when the bluetooth was the only problem and they basically told me to buy a new unit! I had heard there was a new firmware update but they offered no assistance. Thoughts?

I have had mine for a year or so. It was very buggy straight out of the box, but it comes rooted already being android. Once you tweak android a bit to your liking, the operating system is manageable. But honestly for sound this thing sucks in comparison to sound quality with an alpine or pioneer deck. The original bose optional equipment sounded better in my opinion. This is even after replacing the original amplifier with a better one to power all the speakers. It just doesn't sound good. However I keep it because I'm an android fan boy and I use google maps, waze, and google play music frequently. It's nice having it all integrated into the car. Not to mention I originally bought it to use with the Torque app to monitor boost and other essentials right there on the screen.

Hello, I came across your posts regarding updating your eonon head unit. I have been trying to do this fore the past month and just suck at figuring it out. What files/rom/mcu/software etc....I have no idea what I need and saw that you said that sending you a PM would be best because the links get deleted. I know this is old but I really hope you get this email and could give me some direction. Thank you for being active and posting about this!!!!!
