Default Sub install on NON Bose system

I just purchased a 2010 MazdaSpeed 3 without the Bose system. I got a killer deal on it since it was a 2010 and they needed to clear out their 2010 inventory.

I have searched through the forums for adding a Sub, but all of the information I have found has referanced Bose Stereos. Can I add a sub to the stock stereo? Keeping the original headunit and speakers. I just wanted to add my Sub system from my old car.

Yes you can. I have on my Genpoo without the bose system.. here's my thread on what i used.. PAC OEM. Plugs directly into the headunit's wiring harness and gives you RCA outputs along with an amp turn on wire.

For anyone wondering..

No cutting wires, or splicing into your rear speaker inputs for a signal. Works perfect and sounds amazing.

You can use a LOC as well. But yeah, you def can toss that sub in. The non-Bose really needs it too. I've got a powered 10" JL Audio in mine.

^What's an LOC? Too many acronyms.

The factory Bose (spare tire one) will not work with the regular stereo right?

Line output converter. Basically gives you RCA's so you can add an amp to the stock head unit.

I have put a custom system in the rear for shows using the stock deck still but all my speakers were replaced. The subs in these pics have also been replaced with the new Fosgate Power T1 12s. Sounds great for a stock headunit.

I am looking at doing some work to mine but want to keep the stock HU, It's good to know the stock HU isn't that limiting

Not to get to far off topic but, what are you using for an amp(s)? I know it's HiFonics, but more detail pls

The amp is Hifonics new 5 channel. The new Zxi60.4 + 1k. I needed the mono power and this gives me 1000 RMS for the mono side. Can't find another amp that even comes close in price to power ratio.

Since I am using the car for both show and autocross I had to spread the money around and get the most for my money. For shows I get extra points for keeping everything looking stock up front but I do plan on getting a HU and it will be the Pioneer 120BT new this year. I also wanted to hear just what the system would sound like using the stock deck first but it will be coming out. Thanks

I will actually post up a pick with the new Fosgate Power T1's now that they are actually in and running. Things sound killer in the back of this car and I was able to eliminate all rattling by dynomatting the entire back end. Now if only I can stop my front window and mirror from vibrating

Your display for the subs and amp looks great. I want to do a custom box in the hatch maybe with a false bottom and having the sub go into where the spare tire sits or something. But like you I am also torn between performace/visual/sound upgrades.

Thanks. There is actually more to that bax then you can see and the floor also. I have LED's built into the floor under the plexiglass so it all lights up, plus on the back of the box when I have the seats down is a custom MAZDA 3 in 3D built directly into the box which also has LED's which makes it look insane I think. Very cool and I like. Very hard to tell but here is a pick.

Well I know the owner of the stereo shop so he matches all my prices but just to do the 3D Mazda 3 on the box would cost someone about $100. I'm not sure what you want prices on and my price is a package deal. $1000-$1500 for stereo components, wiring and materials plus your labor costs. The LED kits actually add up pretty quick. I have them all over, under dash, seats, in all vents etc. Looks bad ass though at night and well worth it.
