Default Squealing noise in reverse cold start only

I just put Corksport front and rear brake pads on my car in June with the stock rotors (they were re-surfaced) and am at ~32k miles. Over the past few days, I've noticed that I get a squealing noise when I back out of my driveway on cold starts. The noise goes away after that and I've had no squealing otherwise with these brakes.

I searched but wasn't able to confirm if this was normal or not. I haven't been able to replicate the squeak once the car is warm in reverse going up any hills, only when I start it in the morning after being parked w/the ebrake on. It's a very audible noise and can be heard even with the windows up.

Are you sure that it is coming from the brakes? If it is definitely the brakes making the noise, it is sometimes normal for squealing or squeaking due to the surface of the pads not mating completely with the surface of the rotors, even when the rotors are resurfaced. OEM Toyota pads are notorious for this, especially in the rear. When the brakes are heated up and parts begin to expand then it kind of "fills in the gap" and the noise goes away.

The best way to avoid brake squeaking would be new pads with new rotors at every brake change, and of course to use the anti-squeal lube. While resurfaced rotors are almost as good, there is still a higher chance of squealing versus new rotors.

Basically, if you are only hearing it in reverse and aren't having any braking issues anywhere I would just let it be. Or, if you wish to try and alleviate it, I would take the rear apart again and make sure everything is properly lubed. Sometimes just taking it apart and putting it back together is enough for the surfaces to mate better.

Hope that helps at least a little bit.

Thanks, I think I will just try to leave it be for now and see if it gets worse or other problems pop up. I believe its the brakes mostly because idk what else it could be. I've only installed a RMM and the brakes within the past month and nothing else has changed on the car. And will definitely be doing new rotors on the next brake pad change.
