Default GI: JBR 3.5" All Silicone Wide Penis Intakes for 3" GTX Turbo Inlets

Hey guys, I've had some, not a lot, of requests for 3.5" all silicone intakes that will fit the 3" GTX turbo inlets. If this is something you'd be interested in post up here. I need 10 solid commitments to make this happen. Once I have the 10, it will take ~45 days from that time to have them in hand. I'm happy to do this but, I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of slow moving product. Price shipped domestic will be $295.00, $50.00 deposit required.

I will update the OP with those that Commit.

OP updated. Let's hold off on the deposits until we hit our target. I'm gonna reach out to some other forums that have expressed interest and see if we can make this happen.

Jamie, are these going to include the BOV recirc fitting? Any mockup pics avail? possibly interested... wouldn't a mandrel bent pipe flow better than the silicone intakes?

Also, will this be a true 3" ID MAF housing?

This thread is for 3.5" intakes. There will be no 3" version. It will be the same as and have the same options as our current 3.5". The MAF will be 3.380".

The silicone will flow more because it has a true 3.5" ID end to end. Aluminum intakes are 3.5" OD. The larger ID translates in to more volume and more flow. Also, when it comes to performance silicone has much better insulating properties than aluminum. If it were untrue why would every race team wrap the intake in gold foil or header wrap? Don't believe everything you read from the competition on these two subjects.

Thats why i didnt wanted the HTP, +34˚c summers aren't fun, besides i imagine that sound wise, this will be way more quiet than an aluminum inlet. all in all, my new 3" silicon inlet is waaaaay more quiet than the other one i had. right now im wishing more boost, i wished this happened a couple of months ago.

@snailD; @atvfreek; what u guys think? since u r the ones pulling high numbers on the 2867.

i think 3.5in is the max i would go so its the size is right for making power. As far as the silicone vs aluminum debate, i really don't think there will be a substantial difference. Dialing in the aluminum intake i had was a bit more difficult than others out there, and that is i think the main reason it was discontinued. I like the way it looks, is simple, and performs well, plus i have no mod money so i'm going to be holding onto it. I would have no problem going with this 3.5 intake, the regular sized JBR silicone intakes look great. Jamie always does great work for us and stands behind his products so i would give any of his products a shot.

I am in Jamie as long as you touch it with soft caressing hands. Honestly haven't bought an intake because no one makes a straight 3" for the gtx28. Thanks for your continued support of our platform.

Hey Jamie I'm totally up for this but have you ever thought about revising the design to have a metal coupler made into it on the turbo side? Kind of how on your TIP there are couplers made in on the MAF side. I understand that with the full intake your eliminating chances for leaks. I just think with a metal coupler made into it the customer can just pick what size adapter to buy and it would allow for upgrading or downgrading without the purchase of a new intake. You also wouldn't have to worry about making intakes for specific turbos.

yeah Jamie..I really like that idea... I am currently on stock turbo...and at end of year I am going to my GTX2867. It would be great if I could run that intake on my stock turbo and then be able to change the coupler to put it on the new turbo. I am still buying anyway...but it would be great...an added bonus if u would.

Damn, just when finished placing an order. If this is happening next month I think I can swing it.

This is awesome, I'm glad you are making an effort James, I bought the BNR so went with the stock inlet but had I not already committed I would have jumped on this. Thanks for doing as much as you do for the fat needy princess that is the mazdaspeed community.

Also maybe @snailD; @atvfreek; @twowheelrides; should become converts. You know you guys want this intake, especially to get rid of the sure yucky-ness freek.

I'm happy to do this but, I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of slow moving product. Price shipped domestic will be $295.00, $50.00 deposit required.

I will update the OP with those that Commit.

Well in still in and if doesn't work out I still appreciate the willingness to make a turbo specific intake. Thanks Jamie. I will be watching this just in case.

Hey Jamie this doesn't look like its going to go any further there's not much interest in this so you can go ahead and remove me from the list.. My motor is almost done being built so I might as well go with a bigger turbo Lol... Thank you for even considering this.
