Exclamation GI: JBR Under Mounted Hot Side Piping Kit 2007 - 2013 Mazdaspeed 3

This thread is to get a feel for how many kits we need to make. Provided there are no manufacturing headaches along the way, these kits should be available at the end of this month.

Details:
JBR Under Mounted Hot Side Piping Kit, 2007 - 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 $245.00 - $260.00 Includes free domestic shipping.

The JBR Under Mounted Hot Side Piping Kit is designed to fit all clocked OEM/BNR and most big turbo setups. Best when used with the Treadstone TR8, TR8L and TR6 Intercoolers.

The JBR kit is constructed from mandrel bent 6061 aluminum tubing that has been powder coated and high strength thick walled silicone hoses. Routing the piping beneath the motor reduces the amount of hot side charge piping by 12-16% when compared to other kits on the market. Reducing the amount of piping decreases turbo spool up time, reduces boost temperatures and makes for an impressive, almost sleeper looking engine bay. All kits will include a coolant pipe mounting bracket, plus some additional coolant and vacuum hose that may be necessary to clock your turbo.

A custom waste gate actuator mounting bracket is required when the kit is used with the OEM turbo.

Application:
2007 – 2013 Mazdaspeed 3
Best when installed with a Treadstone TR8, TR8L and TR6 Intercoolers

Features:
- Designed, Engineered and Manufactured in the USA
- Black wrinkle coated piping
- Mounting bracket to secure the piping
- 7 layer High strength, thick walled silicone hoses
- Stainless T-bolt clamps

JBR FMIC Piping Kit Includes:
- Hot side under mount piping and silicone couplers
- 6 Stainless T-bolt clamps
- 1 Coolant Mounting bracket
- 1' of coolant hose
- 1' of vacuum hose
- Waste gate actuator mounting bracket (OEM KIT)
- Installation instructions are available in our support section
- Shipping is free in the US & our Hassle Free Lifetime Warranty is included

You did state you had a plan for the over-the-top FMIC piping kit buyers - can you divulge any information in that regard if we'd like to make the change?

Am I the only one who thinks that this is way too much work for 15% shorter routing?

We thought the EXACT same thing when we started designing this kit. We stood back and thought man, what a daunting task this is gonna be.

It takes 2.5 hours to remove, clock, re-install the turbo and install the hot side piping. Super easy for the most part and it fits and looks awesome!

I'm curious about how much spool I'd get back by going to one of these under engine hot sides. 50, 200, 500 rpm? 500 rpm would be a no brainer where as 50 rpm would be a waste.

I'm guessing closer to the low end. Put a tmic on and see where you sit then, it will be much less significant than that.

looks great @jbarone;! Definately tempting. Also curious about how much more spool would be gained with the shorter routing. Will you be offering this in conjunction with your fmic kit? dont want to have an extra hotside laying around for nothing.

I would jump on this right now if your cold pipe could be bought as well or alone. If you offered this as a complete fmic piping kit with the cold pipe it would be perfect. as I prefer this rather than over the top design. I cant justify buying your fmic for 425.00 now and in a month buying this for another 260.00.

We'll be offering to those that have already purchased our FMIC piping kit 15% off of this hot side kit for the first 30 days after it becomes available.

That's an awesome looking kit. Makes me ALMOST wish I had waited (had I known I probably would have) but I'm loving the standard kit.

One question, I know the htp kit requires that you don't run the undertray, is that the same case for your kit?

This. I've been holding out to go fmic because I want an under car routing, but the only kit options aren't complete, so hopefully it becomes an option. As always thank you for contributing to the platform

That puts me at 75% commit. No intent to swap things now (standard kit is awesome) but when I go bigger I'd like to have it on hand - provided you're going to sell the cold side separately on a permanent basis.

No I misread the thread, there were a few people who said they don't run their tray because their custom underpipe kit required it. Htp said it will work with stock undertray

Nice looking kit. I'm glad I held off on your "over engine" kit.
I'm very curious as to what the price point will be for an under engine kit (with cold pipe), and also just the cold pipe alone.

Nice work!

Yes please. So compared to the HTP, it's the same amount of connections. Less metal for heat absorption, seems friendlier where you mold to the front mount area. Is there going to be any issues with airflow around the ?'s 90 degree angle? Seems it would flow better if it was a little less drastic of a bend there. Or would that run into the inner wheel liner?

The cold side will be available separately very soon. Pricing will be attractive as always.

Flow is better. There is one less hard 90 going this route then over the top.

Id definately go under engine. Although I have alternative motives, like being able to leave the top mount on for stock appearance/cleanness. I like this jbr kit, I just hate how much silicone there is. Silicone bulges and swells, and is the most likely part to fail over time. It is clean tho! I dont mind spending a little more for less coupler points when ive already invested in a big turbo, especially when daily reliability is vital, like it is for both of us.

i do believe the design and amount of this silicone will prevent swelling and bulging. Also, I do believe you will need 30+psi to really push that silicone, and I will not be going that high. I wouldnt go as far as just putting a stock tmic on for sleeper status/ cleanliness. A wire tuck and some powdercoat would work just fine. With that being said, metal piping leaves room for color options. I was thinking about this kit just so that @kbz0129; and I could do a comparison (BATs and what not).

This peaks my interest very much.

I want to do a FMIC soon but want to do under the car routing. Definitely want to see how this turns out for pricing. Would be nice to have a full kit (hotside, cold side, and crash bar) minus the Core to be able to purchase it all at once.

Love the idea but I already threw on my bnr and just ordered the original over the engine piping yesterday. Maybe down the road though.

Ive just had too many bad experiences with long silicone coupler. That being said, I have never used jbr couplers, so dont let that steer anyone away from this kit. As my friend here stated, it would take tremendous pressure to bulge couplers enough to worry about it.
Anywho, if you wanna help me out with the wire tuck ill be your best friend, if im not already lmfao. Ive yet to find a single even slightly half decent thread on how to go about it. If all else fails ill do like I did in the evo and just buy new harness connectors and run all new wires from the ecu. Color matched to the oem stuff or course =p. Did that in my 95 gs-x too, relocated th fuse box to the glove box.
