Just shy of 90.

To answer another question..."How are the vibes" not bad at all. I love this mount.

Thanks,
Jamie

So you offer two different style mounts for the rear? Or did I miss something?

Yes 2 styles.

Thanks,
Jamie

jax ms3gt 04-10-2011 09:36 AM

haha quick answer. I guess I just don't know the differences. The style I have already is like the first picture. Is there an advantage or disadvantage from one to the other, or is it just more options available. Does one work/not work with something else? gen1/gen2.. Sorry, I just don't know what the dog bone one is?

Mizzle 04-10-2011 09:36 AM

What risk, if any, do you think there is of the aluminum mount's holes to go out of round due to vibrations on the bolt? Other manufacturers have included steel inserts, some haven't, so I wanted your impression on the matter.

Monotonous ONE 04-10-2011 09:37 AM

i prefer the dogbone...i have a trz

the long bolt that came with my cpe ended up bending ever so slightly and fucked my couch

the dogbone utilizes the stock(shorter) bolt

PapaSmurf 04-10-2011 09:46 AM

Anyone know the rating of the TRZ delrin dog bone mount?

I am going to trade my crappy cpe 60 duro out for a dog bone mount and have heard very good things about the TRZ delrin mount, but if this is the same or higher duro I would rather support a great vendor.

Monotonous ONE 04-10-2011 09:59 AM

^^^

I believe that it is so beastly that it doesnt even have a durometer rating

Chuck Norris once broke the land speed record on a bicycle that was missing its chain and the back tire.

This quote made me think of how "beastly" the JBR RMM is with no duro rating. Do you think the CP-E side mounts would be compatible with either JBR RMM?

I heard 100-110 from PG but i could be wrong.

NCZ13 04-10-2011 05:07 PM

This is a fantastic deal.

Looking forward to what else you have in store.

The Aluminum mount is a great street/strip mount and transfers very little in the way of vibration to the cabin of the car. The molly mount is an outstanding mount for the track and even for daily driving but does exhibit more vibration to the cabin. I think they are both great and honestly for the price it's almost worth having both.

I don't think there is any risk of problems with the holes. If I thought inserts were necessary they would be there. I've never heard of any issues with the other mounts that don't have inserts having problems with the holes. I saw no reason to add them and increase the cost too.

I thought I read somewhere that it's 88; the same as mine.

Mizzle 04-10-2011 09:52 PM

so... side mounts then?
(that aren't an arm & a leg.)

easy 04-10-2011 10:08 PM

how does your dog bone compare to the the trz ploy vibration wise? Was thinking about replacing my rmm with something that doesn't transfer all the vibes and drone into the cabin.

tddvrrn 04-10-2011 10:09 PM

jamie:

is your dogbone about as noisy as the trz in regards to cabin vibes? i just got rid of the trz poly, it was a bit much. i do miss how mega solid it felt though.. do you think your billet 80 would be a step down from the trz in terms of stiffness and noise, but a step up from the street unit? it sounds like you tested a few...

i wonder if i'll ever be totally happy with my set up..

edit^ easy must have been typing while i was..

foodtime 04-11-2011 04:02 AM

A lot of people gave positive results to CP-E's 75 duro RMM with bearable vibes at wot and at daily drive. JBR's RMM looks very similar and made with the same material as CP-E but priced cheaper....JBR RMM for me.

The bushing design is different and should reduce vibes more than the Cpe.

The TRZ dog bone and the Torque solutions aluminum mount are the only 2 I have not had any experience with.

The vibes from my dog bone mount in my opinion is not that bad at all. There are more vibes don't get me wrong but I like the growl the car has now; it sounds cool. I don't hear a drown either. I also may have a higher tolerance for vibes and noise than others. I think it's a great mount though.

Thanks,
Jamie

It is different and larger. There are no spacers to transfer more noise either.

Mikey 04-11-2011 07:25 AM

Damn Jamie, I Wish you would of had your RMM out about 3 weeks ago before i ordered my SURE. :) Very nice, especially the price. I will be receiving my Stage2 SSP, With bushings and Weighted knob today. Cannot wait to instal! Thanks again for getting back to me so soon and getting that to me so fast. Just Awesome! I cannot wait what you come out with next!

Speed3eak 04-11-2011 07:41 AM

In for the TMM and PMM.

When I first saw the first mount, I thought "damn, that's ugly" - but then again, so is a brick shithouse, so kudos jamie. If I didn't already have a rear mount you'd have gotten an order from me already. It definitely looks like the most stout mount I've ever seen.

TRex 04-11-2011 07:58 AM

what bushing material is this? EPDM like CP-E? or polyurethane like sure and TS?

Polyurethane. I chose poly because it's a proven material and there have been no known failures of it in mounts of this style.

Thanks,
Jamie

tddvrrn 04-11-2011 10:13 AM

what bushing material is the su rmm? i just replaced my trz with an su and i love how much quieter my cabin is, but do not like the bounce that i now have in my drivetrain again... :grumpy:

i'm wondering if jamie's billet 80 would get rid of drivetrain bounce. it definitely looks to be the strong silent type..

The SU mount uses a poly bushing as well.

The 80 would be a step in the right direction but this type of mount is meant to be effective while still maintaining some comfort. Also without Tranny and passenger side mounts you will have some bounce. The rear motor mount alone cannot do the whole job by itself. Now the dog bone mount is about as close as you can get with a single mount, but some comfort is sacrificed.

Thanks,
Jamie

Monotonous ONE 04-11-2011 10:38 AM

dont be a pussy...the dogbone is without a doubt the best way to go

I'm pretty sure that CP-E uses a rubber bushing and jbarone uses poly bushings. Not considering the bushing sizes the rubber should be more forgiving.

I'm not sure that one material is more forgiving than the other being that they are hardness rated.

With that said, I believe that my mounts exhibit less vibes to the cabin because there are no aluminum spacers sandwiching the mount. It's my opinion that they are the cause of additional unnecessary vibration.

Just to be clear...I'm not criticizing CP-E, I'm just stating my opinion.

Thanks,
Jamie

Great looking new products as usual from Jamie. Will be making the switch soon to his RMM

both are "rubber"'

one is just polyurethane the other is EPDM (same stuff your window and door seals are made out of)

durometer is measure by creating a permanent deformation in the part (or resistance to elastic deformation), meaning that is taken to the plastic region of its stress-strain curve...a known load is applied for x amount of time and depending on how deep the indent is the material is rated x....but these mounts arent going to be operating in the plastic region...they will be living their life in the elastic region...EPDM is ductile when compared to poly which means it has a flatter slope in the elastic region than poly, meaning it will "give" (deflect/elongate) more under the same stress than poly will....but why do they have the same durometer? again that is measured in the plastic region...cool things about polymers is that you can change lots of properties to get exactly what you want...you can easily have two rubbers that have identical plastic regions but very different elastic regions making one one more brittle than the other even though they have the same hardness

another point is that hardness is not an inherent property of a material, several material factors go into how hard something is...so again just because two materials are the same hardness doesnt really mean they will behave the same under applied loads

the tl;dr version is even though they have the same durometer EPDM will be "softer" than poly...meaning less vibes

but you are also going to have less overall tensile strength (cp-e mounts have failed...no failures yet of poly mounts)

as jamie stated poly mounts have yet to produce a failure and overall for this application (and imo) poly is superior

here is a great article if you want to know more than you could ever care about http://www.gallaghercorp.com/urethan...hardness.shtml

Good to know. I thought polyurethane was closer to a plastic and EPDM was a synthetic rubber. I'm no chemist and I'm sure the distinctions are beyond me.

OT I'm going with the dogbone and will be placing my order soon!

indeed, but the drone was driving me nucking futs. i will say, though, that the trz made the drivetrain super solid, no bounce at all. and it growled like a beast!
but, oh!, the drone.. to much for my dd..

yea polymers are weird....they can be rubber or plastic depending on how they are formulated

JBR 04-12-2011 10:26 AM

Go Molly or Go Home :)

tddvrrn 04-12-2011 11:17 AM

ETA for other engine mounts? months? years?

i'd like to get them from you, but if it will be a while i may get a trans mount from elsewhere then sell it when yours come out..

impatience is key.
