Default Never ending jbr swaybar squeek

I have tried everything. Install exactly like instructions, New bushings, putting the bar high in brackets low in brackets. Over tighten brackets under tighten brackets over grease under grease collars close collars far stiff setting mid soft settings I tired Teflon tape , no matter WHAT I FUCKING DO THE SLOW SPEED BUMP SQUEEKS WILL NOT STOP.

When I take off sway bar.... noise is gone. I'm addicted to the stiff setting but cannot handle the squeek.

Edit: OEM endlinks were shot. New OEM fixed issue.

What kind of grease did you use? Did you check the upper end link nuts? I had that issue and ended up replacing one of the end links my original carxwas a 2010.

Mobile 1 synthetic. Can remember the weight it's red though. Upper End link nuts are tight, moving the endlinks around without the bar has no noise at all and movement is smooth. I've checked everything and nothing is loose.

hmmm... mine went in without any issues besides a loose nut after a week. I didn't even add any more grease then what was supplied. Maybe one of the brackets is bent out of shape and is causing the urethane to rub in a weird way.

That's why I replaced them. First set squeeked and so do these, assuming that's the cause

Are the brackets mounted too high and causing the sway bar to rub on the control arm? Its been a while since I looked under there, but I know the ends of the bar are close to something just above it.

Hmmm. Every time I have installed I have not jacked the car up. I did to check deeper and now see that the end links are hitting the control arm. The plastic cover has a chip on both sides. Can't really get anymore clearance no matter where I mount the bar(roughly 1/8", if that). Note this is with stiff setting. The bar made noise on medium setting before too though.

I ripped the plastic cover off the end links and wrapped them up with electric tape, perhaps this will cure the squeek...

What hole do you have the endlink engaged in? Not that should make a difference just curious.

How are you greasing the bushings? Not with what but how? I know of no one else with a sway bar that squeaks either. Possibly not the sway bar? And just because when you take it off and it doesn't make the noise does not necessarily mean it's the bar.

Grease fittings...why didn't I think of that?

Grease fittings...why didn't I think of that?
The current install I packed the bushings with about 1/16 in of grease all around with my finger. Then I put a ltttle grease in between the urethane and bracket. Then hit it with a grease gun after install.

Other attempts include light coating, no coating, grease gun until the shit is falling on my garage floor, etc...

What else could it be? I used to think it was the plastic strut covers hitting the tires but I expected to still hear it with no bar.

Using the grease fittings, I keep mine lubed with Green Grease (every 3-4 months) and it has never once squeaked.

...Are you referring to the plastic cover that protects them during shipping or the actual boot that isn't supposed to be removed?

The hard plastic semi sphere cover. Im to the point were I will tear everything in half back there to find the issue then I will replace what needs to be replaced.

Either way, taking them off did not solve the issue. Best way I can describe the noise is the squeek a washing machine makes when off balance. This is over EVERY mild bump, even rough pavement patches and especially entering raised drive areas at an angle. It does not make this noise under hard cornering or swaying back and forth.

I dont know how the MS3 bar is set up, but on the 6 you have these collars with bushings that allow you to bolt the bar to the subframe (endpoints go to endlinks) i left one of the nuts slightly loose to move the bar and i guess i must have had forgotten to tighten it down. it caused awful squeaking for a while and it turned out the bracket was just sliding up and down. tightened it really well, drop of loctite and used lube everywhere and it is as silent as can be.

Its not like this just happened and in two minutes I lost it. I spend over 3 hours a day in my car and drive over 3k miles a month. Lets see you go 40k miles with an annoying squeek that you can't get rid of that is in your ear for half the damn day. I deal with noises pretty well since I run a 40k a year car with hard mounts and catless exaust, but after many months this got old. So yes after a shitty week I had a Red mist/pms/faggotry moment where I went Chris Brown on my steering wheel(which I already fixed).

In the words of Eric Cartman... I do what I want.

Please do not mistake my assholish posts as a dig on you or your products James. In fact I love your stuff, the RMM/PMM/Tig/EGR block and even this sway bar.

edit: was endlinks. The noise came back yesterday NON STOP over bumps again and is definately not the endlinks hitting as I thought it might be. This time I decided to install the stock bar to see if it is just caused by connecting both sides of the car together.

Currently with the stock bar there is NO noise again. D.E.A.D silent.

Is it possible I am still installing wrong... sure i guess. But this is not my first rodeo with any car let alone the MS3. I managed to install my pump, downpipe and clean my valves, etc.. with no help and no issues so I find it hard that I have messed up 6 bolts TWICE with an aftermarket bar but not with the stock bar. Either way, I am going to order yet ANOTHER set of bushings, hopefully with better results this time.

Read my post in this thread. JBR RSB Grease Fittings

It's the only thing you haven't tried so you have nothing to lose. I could never go back to the stock bar and be happy.

Trust me, Im not happy with the sloppy stock bar.

I saw your post before which is why I tried teflon but that did nothing. With the new bushings ill try some marine grease.

Whatever works for you mate, its your car but this brownie Ghandi fucker has 2 years on you on this forum. At least I can install a rsb without it causing me to go apeshit on my steering wheel. I just strip endlinks in the process. Just because I can't afford to donate doesn't mean I'm new shit head, 2008 holmes check the profile!

Look just above the sway bar on each end and see if it rubbing on anything just above it. When I had my bushing brackets mounted too high the bar would rub on the ends.

Are your struts blown by any chance? Maybe the bar being stiff is putting more strain on them? Just thinking out loud...

Struts are fine. I lowered the bar and tried some washers to give me some more clearence and it seems to have solved it for most everything but the bigger movements. I think without the covers the extra space is just enough now. I'm thinking a slightly longer aftermarket end link might be the answer.

Thanks for the help guys

I dont know how the MS3 bar is set up, but on the 6 you have these collars with bushings that allow you to bolt the bar to the subframe (endpoints go to endlinks) i left one of the nuts slightly loose to move the bar and i guess i must have had forgotten to tighten it down. it caused awful squeaking for a while and it turned out the bracket was just sliding up and down. tightened it really well, drop of loctite and used lube everywhere and it is as silent as can be.

It's not the bar...It's the stress it's putting on some other component(s). Bars don't squeak and neither do the bushings. I bet if you installed it on another car it would not squeak.

Then why would the stock bar not make noise if this bar was making noise even on the soft setting. If you search urethane sway bar squeek you get many results on Google on of the more prominent being the Shelby gt500. It also happens to match my sound almost dead on.

Because the stock bar is way less stiff then our bar on the softest setting.

With this being one of the most popular bars on the market, you would think there would be at least one other instance of this kind of noise occurring and there's not so, I'm going stand firm on it's something else.

If you want to send the bar and the bushings to us I'll install it in our shop car.

You're seriously the only person who has had this problem and been unable to resolve it. It is likely that it is another suspension component. The only time a bar should squeak is if there is extra friction from lack of grease, or movement that should not be occurring due to wear or something being loose. You say everything is tight and the bushings are both new and greased.

Replace your endlinks (not like they aren't cheap) and check your other suspension components. Something else is either loose or worn. Oh and see if you can get a video or recording of it. People just might be able to help narrow it down by sound. Or continue having a shitty attitude, either works.

When I had a Pu I put the JBR bar on there and flogged it mercilessly around corners. The only problem I ever had was clunking due to the endlink loosening, which was easily resolved. It never once squeaked. I still have that bar and if you want I'll stop being lazy and make a FS thread and you can buy it from me and prove to yourself what we already know; it's not the bar.

Are you sure it's not the rear hatch squeaking?
