Default New and Improved MAZDASPEED 3 70a and 80a Rear Motor Mounts

We changed the design of our 70 and 80 mounts to be more like the 88. Billet mounts have always been difficult to tighten and keep tight; no matter who they're made by. The molly design is stronger, not the it needs to be any stronger than aluminum, and it's easy to tighten and it stays tight.

We been testing this design in dozens of cars for just short of year now and it's been perfect. We also have more control over production and quality of these mounts which has always been very important to us.

We're always looking at ways to improve our product line.

You know a vendor is good when they come out with improved versions of a product that has been on the market for a long time AND is already trusted by the community, doesn't "need" any upgrades and sells just fine.

Rock on Jamie!

Not only is this a product improvement but, it also helps us to be more efficient in several ways. Since tooling and setup for the molly 88 is very similar to the new 70 and 80 tooling and setup, we can save time and money. This allows us more time to manufacture the numerous other parts we make, to focus more on research & development of new parts, and to pass some of the savings on to our customers by keeping costs down. It's win win for everyone.

We've learned a lot over the past 3 and a half years and we listen to our customers too. We recently improved our transmission mounts and we've made a couple minor improvements to our catch can kits as well. This is business for us now, but it's not one that's all about making money.

Cheers!

What changes were made to the OCC kits and when were they made? Anything significant? @jbarone;

Just fittings really, nothing with the can itself.

Way too harsh..lol Out of all the rear mounts we've comparison tested, ours exhibit the least amount if vibration...Excluding the 88 and even that mount exhibits little in my opinion and that of many others as well.

Cool, I've only ever tried the corksport motor mount and it my opinion it transfers too much vibration when shifting into gear. It's become a very annoying distraction. I'll try this one out. I'm sure I'll love it.

I too have 80 all the way around. The rmm was put on first and that was not really that noticeable. I would probably buy the 88 if the 80 wasn't such a bulletproof item and would break. Nothing like a vendor putting out an item that you replace because you want to, not because there is something wrong with it. lol

Good first mods, now save up for Access Port and fuel pump internals and unleash the powa with a stratified OTS tune!

Please take a moment to read this post; it's very good information about aluminum rear mounts.

The Motor Mount Thread

It's so well put and exactly why we redesigned the 70 and 80 duro mounts to be in a similar housing like our 88. ALL aluminum mounts, whether they're made by SURE, Corksport or CP-E suffer from the material wearing and coming loose over time. You simply can't get the big forks from a billet mount to clamp tight enough.

That post sums up my conclusion about my used JBR 70 duro RMM. I'd get under there, tighten in, everything is good for a few days, and then I hear and feel the engine rocking back and forth a few days later. Sooner if I romp on it.

I mentioned in my mounts thread that I drove a fellow Nator members car that was fully mounted with JBR's 88/80's and it was nowhere near what I thought it would be like. I've given up going to the drag strip until I get these in.

I just finished installing the shifter kit and the new 80 duro mount and holy shit! Everyone always talks about how drastic the change is, but you really need to check it out for yourself to understand just how drastic and enjoyable it really is. I just fell in love with the car all over again!

Installed my brand new JBR 80duro RMM last Saturday at our So Cal NOTOR meet and I absolutely love it thus far!

The vibrations aren't too bad at all. I really dig how the car feels and how the shifts feel now. This plus my JBR CAI and Stratified OTS stage 1 map, really woke my car up and made it even more of a blast to drive.

Thanks for the excellent products @jbarone! You guys really go above and beyond.

I'm glad you like the new mount....and the intake too!

We've been overrun with orders for the new molly 70 and 80 duro mounts so it would appear others are liking them too.

Just installed my 88 this morning. Those vibes and cabin noise are intense. Did not expect that much of an increase over my corksport mount. Haven't done any testing yet, just some easy pulls in 3rd and 4th. I'll do some when I get home from work. I'm going to let the mount break in for a couple of weeks and if it doesn't die down enough I'm buying one of these new mounts and sell my 88 molly.

I installed the JBR 80 duro RMM a few weeks ago at the last NATOR meet and at first I was pretty shocked at how intense the vibes and cabin noise was too. But really dude it does go down when it starts to break in.

I've only driven my car about 600 miles max since I installed it and I don't really notice it anymore. I only feel some vibes way down in the low RPM range and then its as quite as stock once you get going. The vibes and stuff are only going to get better the more miles I put on it. Granted there will always be some vibes but I'm sure it won't be too bad.

Since you got the 88 duro RMM, I imagine the vibes would be worse and would probably take longer to break in. Although I wouldn't think it would be that much worse.

Did you get the 80 molly or the first model?

I don't know how best to describe the vibration. It's almost like my car is a ringing cellphone on vibrate. I guess I'll wait and see after the break-in period. Should take me a month plus since I only drive 100 miles a week. I think JBR is worth the wait.
