Arrow New Product Re-Release!! FST and MS3/6 Oil Catch Can Kits

You asked for it, so we took care of it...

Improvements & Updates:
  • We've brought the entire manufacturing process in house which means we can offer these in 3 colors and at a lower price! $165.00 without a check valve and $180 with.
  • We've improved the mounting bracket. It's now constructed out of stainless steel instead of aluminum so it won't break off like some have in the past.
  • We've relocated the drain to the bottom, increased the size of the drain from 1/4" to 5/8" and added a much easier to operate drain valve. Now you'll get every last drop of goo without clogging.
  • We're now utilizing the same OEM fittings to make the connections on the Focus ST that Ford uses.

Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 Kits:

Features:
  • Designed and Manufactured in the USA
  • Entirely constructed out of 6061 aluminum
  • Precision TIG welding of all components

  • Check valve kit (Optional)
  • Installation instructions are available in our support section

To add my input, I would much rather see a drain that is attached to the can vs one that has a flex section first.

I just picture trying to open the drain that is a little stuck and the whole thing flexing. Now you are trying to stuff two hands down there, one to hold drain body still while the other turns the valve.

I have the other JBR OCC and I had two complaints on it:

1. Drain on the side vs bottom so I couldn't drain it fully. (Not a big deal really)

2. The drain was not a simple 1/4 turn valve. Sometimes the drain valve is hard to undo to drain because of the small multi turn valve.

Have you thought about just welding on a 1/4" or even a 5/8" NPT bung on the bottom and going that route with a body mounted NPT drain valve?

1. Drain on the side vs bottom so I couldn't drain it fully. (Not a big deal really)

This was expressed to us many times and the reason why we moved it to the bottom.

2. The drain was not a simple 1/4 turn valve. Sometimes the drain valve is hard to undo to drain because of the small multi turn valve.

This was also a problem for some and the reason for the new style 1/4 turn valve we're using.

Have you thought about just welding on a 1/4" or even a 5/8" NPT bung on the bottom and going that route with a body mounted NPT drain valve?
We gave a lot of thought to a rigid drain. We stewed over it for some time so we asked the opinions of a number of MS3 and MS6 owners with our current catch can before deciding on the present solution.

Here are their thoughts...

- All but one MS6 owner opted for the flexible connection. Space was one big concern. Rigid drains extend the can nearly 3". The main concern was too many occurrences of bottom mounted drains being sheared of from contact with the road.

- Most MS3 guys had no real opinion either way. Most wanted color options and for the kit to be less expensive. We obliged.

The choice of drain was a huge issue for us and we tried several before settling on the one included now. The main criteria was...We had to have a 1/4 turn drain that was going to be easy to use and never stick. We chose this drain because it's large, it's 1/4 turn, will not stick and most importantly...can be operated with one hand
.

The drain is buttery smooth to operate. Even the girls that work here had no trouble opening and closing it with one hand.

Attached is a little vid a just shot.

We have an option to vent them. Is there something specific you would like or that we should change? There's nothing we can't accommodate.

There's something to be said of a vendor who takes feedback and obliges. GG Jamie and crew. The bottom drain is a huge improvement imo. I do have one question; does the valve just connect via hose?

The hose connects to the bottom nipple on the can with a clamp. Is that what you were looking for or?

What are your thoughts of the life expectancy of these cans? I bought a can over 5 years with close to 40k miles use. Should these be replaced over time?

Depends on the can. If it's made with perforated plates like ours, than it never needs to be replaced. If it uses mesh as the means of catching the oil, than there's a real possibility that the mesh could break down, dislodge and enter the motor.

What oil catch can do you have?
