Arrow New Product Release! JBR FMIC Piping Kit, 2007 - 2009 Mazdaspeed 3

Details:
JBR FMIC Piping Kit, 2007 - 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 for TreadStone TR8 Intercooler

The OEM top mount intercooler is sufficient for stock horsepower but, for those wanting to make more, it simply isn't capable of providing the cooling capacity necessary. To make more power, the OEM top mounted intercooler needs to be removed and replaced with a larger front mounted intercooler. The JBR Front Mounted Intercooler Piping Kit for the 2007 – 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 makes that possible, easily and more effectively than any other piping kit on the market.

Thin walled aluminum piping carries hot boost air from the turbo all the way to the base of the radiator. Aluminum was chosen here for its very high heat transfer coefficient. Meaning, boost temperature will begin to drop as soon as it exits the turbo. At the base of the radiator the aluminum then transitions to a one piece, high strength thick walled silicone hose, which then wraps around the core support and in to the intercooler. This design significantly reduces the typical number of connections, simplifies the installation and greatly lowers the chances for leaks.

Upon exiting the intercooler, the cool boost air enters another one piece, high strength, thick walled silicone hose and travels from there, all the way to the intake manifold. Silicone has a very low heat transfer coefficient so, the hot ambient air in and around the engine bay will not be able to penetrate through all of the layers of silicone therefore, the cold air you just spent $800 to get cool, will stay cool. All other kits currently on the market have several couplers, elbows, and connections long before ever reaching the intake manifold. Not only does that make for a difficult installation but the potential for leaks is drastically increased.

Application:
2007 – 2009 Mazdspeed 3

Requires the use of a Treadstone TR8 Intercooler (Mounting Brackets Included - $35.00 Value!)

Features:
- Designed, Engineered and Manufactured in the USA
- Black wrinkle coated and polished aluminum piping
- 7 layer High strength, thick walled silicone hoses
- Stainless T-bolt clamps
- Maintains Clean OEM look with proper placement of the power steering cooler

JBR FMIC Piping Kit Includes:
- Hot and cold side piping
- BPV Adaptor flange and mounting hardware
- 7 Stainless T-bolt clamps
- Power Steer Cooler Mounting Brackets
- TR8 Intercooler Mounting Brackets ($35.00 Value)
- Installation instructions are available in our support section
- Shipping is free in the US & our Hassle Free Lifetime Warranty is included

Has this kit been test fitted with the tr8l core? I'm curious if the 2 cores are different in overall dimensions (some say it is 2" longer), or the tr8l just has a bigger core but retains the same overall size.

Also, when do you plan to add the installation instructions to your website?

This kit looks great. Good work!

Here's a link to the longest instructions I've ever had to write. Feed back on them would be much appreciated.

@jbarone Long, very detailed, and still easy to follow. Looking forward to this Saturday for the install. I have a feeling all those pics are going to come in handy.

We have not fitted it with the TR8L. The hoses I'm confident will work but the mounting brackets for the core and the PS cooler will not work.

I would think to fit the tr8l you will just have to drilla new hole in the supplied brackets judging by the photos. I plan to use a tr8l as well

It looks like it will wont take long to install since it doesn't have a lot of separate pipes.

Default Piping Kit Installed

@jbarone, thanks again for making this kit. I'm really happy with how easy the install was and how top notch the quality is.

Plenty of room for the cold side and my JBR CAI. That made me happy since that fitment seemed to be an unknown.

Install took 3.5 hours, including a beer break. I did this by myself. Granted, I have access to a lift, and I took full advantage of that. Even so, I took my time and I didn't end up with any spare parts.

I didn't end up removing the Ambient Air Temp sensor pod mount thingys. The bumper went on just fine. The inner one is touching the cooler, but I didn't care that much. Also, I don't have a cut off tool in TX with me. Another one of the tools still back in CA.

The previous owner royaly screwed up the driver side bumper cover mounts. It was completely held on by zip ties, and most of the mounting tabs were broken... Looks like I'll be contacting @Raider
for those quick removal dealios.

I don't imagine I'll see any huge changes in BATs until summer rolls around. It was 60 degrees out on my drive home, and my BATS were between 75 and 80 cruising, and would jump to maybe 87-90 when idling at a light. It was nice seeing the BATs drop instantly when I started moving.

tl;dr - This kit is badass and incredibly easy to install.
