I will just use the excuse that the PC is rubbing off the top of my "Genone" JBR shift knob so I need another and oh, it's round so it can't happen to the new knob with the wife!

I've been using spherical for years and found i prefered it over several other shapes and types. It sits lower too, effectively reducing the range of throw. But damn, mine only weighs a pound and i though it was heavy.

Matt, definitely buy one so i can try it out.

Ordered the LTD black w/ silver vein spherical knob, stage 2 ssp kit and chrome-molly RMM a week ago.

Jamie promised it would arrive in 3 days, it showed up in 2!

When installing the knob, I had the hardest time getting the shift pattern oriented correctly only adjusting the jamb nut. Then I realized I could simply use my thumbs to rotate the plastic pattern chip into place after the fact (still well glued into place after doing so). This revelation came to me after more knob twisting than I care to mention.

I put the SSP and solid bushings in at the same time. I can't believe how great shifting feels now. I bought the kritz o-rings, but decided to keep them off b/c the knob felt better without them. The sharp edges only make my hands stronger as far as I'm concerned.

RMM going in soon, can't wait.

Man u ain't kiddin bout the knob twisting. I'd get it close and adjust it so it should be perfect and it will have spun like 180 degrees around and I was like . So I'd take it back off and turn the jam nut where it shoulda been and I'd put it back on and be like again. And then after being like around 100 times or so I did what you did. I got it close and twisted the shift pattern. There was much unnecessary knob twisting and fondling yesterday. It made me late back to work from lunch...lol

At one point I thought I was going crazy, wondering if there was a right side up to the jam nut b/c it wouldn't jam once it came in contact with the adapter (I'm still convinced there is). Either way, it wasn't actually a hard install, I just die a little inside if things aren't at right angles. Glad I went with the LTD knob over the black too -- as good as Jamie's pics are, they don't do it justice for how good it looks in person. And don't even get me started on how much better it feels over the stock shift knob. With the SSP and solid bushings, the car just slips into gear, no coaxing the shifter at all. Really pleased with the upgrade.

RMM goes in today too. It's been like Christmas this past week!

Talk about christmas. In the next week or 2 I should be getting a Cobb AP Tuner, Autotech HPFP internals, Corksport SRI/TIP, and then I'll be able to put on my Ultimate Racing DP/TP. I don't even know if I'm going to be able to not have an orgasm looking at the splendiferous pile o' goodies. I wish christmas was that awesome but sadly, around here, it just can't compare.

+1 on the LTD Knob!!

I was running a 490g, then moved to this one, and its night and day!! the LTD looks FANTASTIC too. though, i really wasn't expecting it to be so huge! its like shifting with an apple. lol.

I had a hard time getting the shift pattern strait too, i just left it at maybe 3-4* off.
