| Not Ranked : 0 score great to hear! hey, you wil want to be careful with the MBC depending on what you feel comfortable with regarding engine load and target PSI. I was hitting 230 load at 3200RPMs and with MBC there is no way to work around that sans not going WOT until later. IDK maybe I am too cautious but just be careful both you and Lenny. At 18PSI there may be no issue but I target 20.5-21 and...damn it comes on quick and strong. Maybe the 3071 will spool enough later to be perfect! If I were built there would be no hesitation. For now I am back on EBC and just about have my tuning issues with boost occiliations resolved. again congrats on pulling the BT trigger!!!! You will fall in love with your car all over again...I guarantee it!!!!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Good lord everybody is going BT lawls!! On stock block which is kinda scary but the more the better I guess. imagine if our motors can handle 400whp on stock bottom. Im running close to 22psi on my t3 3076 i've done maybe 150 wot pulls mostly 3th and 4th gear. Motor is running like a charm. My load has hit 230-240ish but above 4k rpm, not that I know what the hell that really means, but I figure I'd share since some of you can make sense of that. Compared to my stock turbo and sst this turbo has shown the least amount of kr. I havent even laid the meth over my tune yet! WIN!! exciting times Hopefully Lenny's bt will be installed before the rest of the members on this Forum. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score so NJ you are on a stock bottom end? fuck... I wouldn't mind that load above 4k but at 3100 that could be rod puking load! This only happens to me of coures when preping for a dyno run and going WOT at 2.5K. oh BTW, for those interested, I posed up my SS Exmani install pics. Not an all inclusive how-to but some nice eye candy! http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...85/#post613611

| Not Ranked : 0 score dont use a hacksaw. Use an angle grinder with a cutting wheel and put some tape on the cut like the previous dude mentioned. you'll have a nice clean cut. For me to tighten the oil return fitting on the cartridge side i had to use an 4" adjustable with a nettle nose like frame. I couldnt fit a open end on the for the life of me. Since your turbo is sorta different than mine it may work not sure. Take a measurement of your clearances in between the hotside and compressor side. So you know if the open end will fit or not. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i have used both methods gerry on cutting braided lines..... tape always is a must (i actually have used always electrical tape to compress the braids as i cut) and hacksaw or grinder work fine...hacksaw make u sweat but a new blade will do the job just fine...u just gotta use a lil elbow grease. im o see though about a grinder at home depot....i need one anyways.... as far as the oil return.....point taken.....shouldnt be a problem ill see what room there is..last night i was actually using a 1" open wrench to tighten it....we ll see thanks

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score took ma new angle grinder + cutting wheel and did this.... then i took the bracket and some header wrap... and used a header wrap steel tie..... pull on the tie with a pair of small vise grips.... (cut u will cut your hand otherwise) and that part of the bracket is done..... now i need to slot the bolt holes (tried it with my new rotary grinder but as i suspected its not for removing mass amounts of thick metal....

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score now as far as the steel braided lines..... I just took one out to show u guys what I have always done....... and it always comes out decent... took my trusty new 18v angle grinder.... disassembled the hose from fittings of the oil return line.... and wrapped the end with electrical tape super tightly wrapped (3 times over) basically held the hose on the vise and just cut straight down..... (the very last piece hangs on by a hair if you dont cut onto the table...but i didnt want to do that ..plus i can always clean up the edge with a pair of dykes..... now u take the new shorter end and press it into the fitting .... now it will probably only go in about half way in...... but thats ok.... now u grab that fucken hose close to the fitting and bang the fitting flat against a sturdy bench (soft table to not fuck up the finish on the fitting) and the hose will push itself until it butts up against the edge of the fitting.... like so... u can see the hose can come no closer now u take the next fitting that has a flared end and push into the one on the hose as you tighten the nuts...the flared end pushes the hose tight against the wall of the fittings and ensures it wont slide out.... and that is it boys.......

| Not Ranked : 0 score I found that it was a whore to get the fittings back onto the line after my cut. What would happen is as you tighten the outer fitting it would push the SS line out. Mine was done with a hack saw so it kinda flared the SS out and that was my issue. Good work BT hey did you ever find out if others had to shorten their oil drain line? Or are you over preping again

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i asked gsrtype1... and he respnded with 7 pms... and still no straight answer.... so idk... but i sure as shit im overpreparing..in only cut like 1/4th of an inch to show what had to be done.... i dudnt have any issues with cutting or putting it back in....as soon as u thread it it will either push the hose out or pinch it against the fitting....u just have to press the hose into the fitting for a revolution or 2... after that its locked in

| Not Ranked : 0 score dude I had the inside fitting in a vise, stood on the line and it still pushed out as I was cranking on it. ya know kinda like trying to penetrate a dry pussy with just a chubby! It wouldn't go in!!! but just as with the pussy..I kept at it and it finally went in and all was well ![]() BTW..don't blame me if your return line ends up being 1/4 inch too short hahahahahah

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score ok.... BT bracket is done.... thanks dano for getting me to think the stocker would work...thank you njspeed for bringing up the slotting idea.... thanks to all the lil people that made this dream become a reality,... like my cousin vinnie the midget and his wife dorothy the bar stool. anyways..... i was gonna take it to a machine shop because this is much much easier done with a drill press to ensure accuracy and also even pressure..... but i already went out of the house once this weekend (and thats my quota)so i said fuck it... ill do with what i have.... would have been nice to have a drill bit the size of the hole but i didnt..... so with no press, no right drill bit size there is only one way to get the shit right.... lil drilling...lil wd 40....lil dremmel action to blend in nicely and over and over again so the slot doesn't distort on you.... time consuming but it came out decent. heres the tools and set up..... heres the difference in size from the unmolested hole on the left and the slotted one on the right (.300 thousandths of an inch is what I removed) now for this side (vertical ID is .500" stock... hole isnt circular from the factory) i removed .300" and i get this confirming that both slots vertical ID are .800" now and here is the finished product as it will sit under the turbo and that is a done deal. ill be able to adjust the height to fit snugly now. whats next ? lol (pics a lil out of focus....oh well smnf)
