K04s have two different kinda bearings to choose from. All i kno is that the bearing has the oil drain ports on the sides of the bearing.....But thats because this k04 was a genpu turbo.


My guy in cali did it, so im not exactly sure which was used.

So any news/updates/dyno #'s from anyone running the billet wheel K04? Anyone on just pump gas, without e or meth?

He doesnt have one, but we're contemplating putting one on his car, so i just wanted him to notice this thread. We're also interested in (93) pump gas numbers.

at the end of the day, it may not payback for the efforts VS a BT ?

If a housing and wheel kit could ba availaible at reasonable cost this could be nice but at the other end, the turbine is someway limited also

Why don't you just go with a known turbo upgrade for the same cost as one of these odd "upgraded K04s" that no one uses. I don't get it.

I knew of Shawn back then when he was running my locals fabricated top mount manifold 35r setup but wanted to see how this billet k04 setup panned out. I'm buying identical current kit besides his dp and dump from Kozmic but same turbo kit overall so I know he's top mounted nowadays as on Kozmic kit

I am likely to put this thing on this summer. What Ive realized though is that I will realistically only be able to run more timing with the same boost levels because I wont go higher than 19psi before 5.5K and 17psi at 6.5K, and this turbo should produce less heat than the stock K04. So I'm not likely to gain all that much except having a slightly newer turbo in the car. Still gonna do it tho.
