It was in my baggie for the timing cover but all the screw holes are buttoned up.

Hmmm, so it's a stud/nut....it's not long enough to be an alternator stud/nut, but maybe it's for one of your other accessories.

the bottom bolt for the timing cover is a stud much like that one you are holding.

its one of the middle 2, i dont think it matters which one, just make sure the long end goes into the block so u can use the nut to screw it in

In this picture, it looks to be right about the crank sensor.....

AFAIK nothing connects to the other side of it so i guess it doesent matter haha

yeah its the one directly below the crank bolt, but like Ant said it makes no difference.

Motor is in.

Still need to:

- Finish installing IM and PS
- Finish tucking OCC lines
- Fabricate 3" intake
- Fabricate 3" V-Band DP
- Finish 1 runner on the EM and tie in the WG runners
- Get hotside, DP, and EM coated
- Install FMIC pipes
- Plumb 3-Port EBCS
- Install Axles
- Plumb Turbo
- Adjust clutch
- Fluids

I'm sure they're more but the list is getting shorter.

It has rtv sealant on it, going to say a stud bolt for mounting the ac condensor to the oil pan?????

Adjust the clutch? huh?....do you mean bleed the slave, as far as I' am aware there is no clutch "adjustment", hydraulic slave is supposed to adjust automatically

Similar bolt is used for the starter too IIRC, cause a wire harness or something bolts to it.

It'll be obvious once you get to that point, lol.

Just out of curiosity how much is it gona cost to build the TS manifold. it seems TS is alot more efficient than a normal turbo setup, can you gain more power out of a smaller turbo with this kind of setup. for example instead of 400 kinda being the limit on a GT2871 the limit would be somewhat higher?

a gt28 has absolutely no problems with spool up and lag, ts does not change the flow of the tc in terms of lbs of air per minute....other avenues to bump up the flow are for example doing things like changing the turbine housing a/r size or even doing pre turbine injection (not something I am a big fan of doing but it effects the air density) can and will change the ve of a tc......in terms of lbs of air per minute
Twinscroll helps to reduce spool up/lag with larger frame tc, imo= I would not use it on anything smaller then a gt35....anything smaller it is a waste of time and money imo

the answer is no, if you want to squeeze more top end out of a gt28 you can go to a larger a/r turbine housing at the cost of shifting the powerband towards the topend and lossing a bit of spool on the bottom, a 71r using a .64 ar is good to about 42lbs/min and larger housing (.82 ar) can push about 45-46lbs/min . 1lb air/min = 10hp

Manifold is almost done. Should be broken down and welded up tonight as well as the DP fabb'ed up and have them ready for ceramic coating, along with the hotside and wastegate housing.

Was hoping things would be good to start up this week, but it's looking more like next week now due to me being out of town again.

Looks like it'll be tight where the heat shield for the brake reservoir is but we should be okay. I'm pretty sure we'll need to put a different outlet on the compressor to get the angle we're looking for.

I basically bolted the head flange to the motor when it was out of the car, held the turbo in where I thought a good position might be, and we tacked it all into place and built the runners from point A to point B.

Needless to say...hope it fits!

You could always clock that bish down, and route the hot pipe under the car. And if the intake is tricky..... go blow through and put a shroom filter on the compressor

Been out of town since Thursday night for my brother's bachelor party. Made it back smelling of stripper tits and with a pretty decent concussion.

Anyway... came back to a finished manifold. I just finished porting the head flange and decking it at lunch.



DP and recirc'd dump tube getting fabbed tonight and off to get coated, hopefully back on Wednesday.

From there...

Plumb the turbo
Install DP and dump
Make my 3" Intake
Rework the hotpipe
Install the axles
Fill it with fluids
Stap it to the dyno and break this thing in.

Once again, I could finish it this weekend if I were going to be around. Headed to Vegas for another bachelor party on Thursday morning.

You'd think I had another car to drive or something by how long this is getting dragged out...
