Got a package in the mail today.
Ordering BT inlet and intake tomorrow.
Injector seals arrive this week

Install begins next week when I do vvt actuator swap.

Can you say yum?

I'm figuring on running 18-22psi daily. We'll see what happens. I fully expect my clutch to give up the ghost within the first two weeks or so of BT :/

that reminds me. I'll snap a pic of the WG actuator later on to show some of you guys. They didn't include 45* fittings for the water line on that side, but it looks like the actuator arm they fabbed will clear the water line easily.

I have to boost test it, too, see how much i have to preload it.

You'll be fine with the coolant line and that actuator, it's the EXACT same design as mine.

However... if you want to preload it much, you'll have to do a little work.

GREAT turbo though! Now we'll have to have some dyno competitions since it's... the same setup? lol

My gtx76 came with the .60 too and I bought it through you guys a couple weeks ago. I thought it was supposes to be the. 70 too.... so is this a mix-up we need to gey straighened out with ATP?

IIRC you need the .60 compressor housing to clear the block in the OEM turbo location..

Lex, gt35r capability with gtx76 was alluring to me. I want to be able to hit 425-450whp easily once I go aftermarket mani, twin scroll turbine side and EWG.

Compressor side has little effect so don't worry.

I am surprised not more people are getting the GTX3071 with the spool of the 71 and flow capabilities of a GT3076 it seems like a win to me.

Injector seals came today

Studs/nuts for injector crows feet are on the shelf.

VVT actuator and tools came today to attack that sunday afternoon. Once install is verified to fix problem, BT install begins. Hope to have VVT install done mid-sunday afternoon and buttoned up, confirmed, and BT install to begin that night.

So the inevitable fail hit today.
While trying to remove the bind plug in the timing cover to access the chain tensioner, the plug stripped. Pretty much fubar'd the afternoon.

Went to Sears and picked up a couple extractor kits to try tomorrow. Big problem is accessing the motherfucker. I need to somehow lower the motor about an inch, inch and a half to be able to use a drill as needed.

With this VVT replacement going as smoothly as I hadn't predicted, I'm just gonna disassemble the whole shebang and install everything at once, injector seals, crows feet, BT, and come Friday, big maf intake and cp-e big inlet.

i should have at least half the fail overcome by then.

Okay, so I got the motor to drop ALMOST enough to go straight on it with the extractor. At this stage I'm just going to order a new bind plug. I'm not sure I can get the motor to drop any more, but I may just drill into the bind plug a little more to give the extractor something to bite onto.

This is getting ridiculous.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My timing chain is loose and i'm needing to replace it. How difficult is it to do? I'm looking to get the DC VVT.

Matrix, if you have patience, you can save the $800+ a dealer charges you. Since you need to replace teh chain, you have to take the timing cover off. Is this easy? Nope, because you gotta find a way to get teh crank pulley off. If you don't have the SST, you gotta get creative. We tried putting car in 6th today and holding brakes while I busted out the big breaker bar: nothing. My Kobalt air gun did absolutely nothing, and I have a 33gal compressor to back it up, lol.

Anywho, ugh.

What gun are your using? I would check the torque spec on it. With the right gun, it will come off. Your air compressor should be sufficient...
