Default CPe EWG Turbo Manifold vs. ATP EWG Turbo housing

So I keep finding even more cool options for a big turbo build. Im getting ready to order a 3071 from atp, and I stumbled across cpe's ewg turbo manifold. I thought I had decided on the atp turbo with ewg turbine housing. The cpe mani is definately expensive, but if id get better results running the wastegate on the manifold than the hot side housing, id rather spend the exrra money and do it right the first time.
Any thoughts guys?

P.s. if Iget the cpe mani, id get the iwg atp turbo and tacweld the flap shut

Doesn't CP-e sell a T3 flanged manifold? Why not just go T3 housing and pickup a PTE turbo on the cheap(er)

Close! They do NOT offer a T3 flange, but PTE uses a PTE specific vband like flange which CPE DOES offer on their manifold

CPE has stock flange, precision flange, and tial flange.

I think it's 'better' to have the wastegate on the manifold for controlling pressure release.

I believe the ATP housing is .55AR or something. IIRC you are better off going to a different flange that flows better and with a housing like .82AR, but obviously stock is easier and cheaper.

I had planned on sticking with stock flange with the 3071 as slightly later spool on the stock block is never a bad thing for dd. Plus I like the idea of comple bolt on ability. It had been mentioned the sticking with iwg is sufficient so I may start off that way. Any negative experiences running iwg? Also, hot much faster spool would I really get with a vband flange?

Running an external wastegate has its boost control and flow advantages. It is also more expensive.

As mentioned above, if using the CPE manifold with an EWG, get a turbo that was designed for EWG.

If getting the ATP turbo, stick with the internal gate. The internal gate is fine as well and will not be limiting your power potential especially on a stock block car.

If I stick with the stock manifold, would you suggest the atp iwg over their new ewg housing? My ultimate goal is around 450whp, not exceeding 500. Theres certainly more work to be done before I get there, but is it possible to make those numbers with the stock manifold? As I said before, I dont mind slightly later spool, especially on a stock block. If I go larger manifold id get a FP HTA 3076 instead, but I like the bolt on ease and proven reliability, as this is my dd

I've tuned both numerous and the EWG has better boost control but both worked well. I would say a GTX or GT3076 is a great match for your goals.

Its really worth going 3076 over 3071? Ultimately I do want to reach 450-475 without having to buy another turbo. Is it doable on the stock manifold flange size? Ive done the hacked up engine bay with my 497awhp 512wtq evo9, want to maintain that stock look. Thats why im gonna run the cobb ram air fmic, to maintain the stock engine bay appearance. Thoughts?
P.s. I have no desire to go at or over 500whp, its just more than you could ever use on a street car, annd more than enough on the track. I am about to do the awd conversion I did on my old mz3. Ill post a how to walk through whenthe time comes. Using the rear end out of my bbrother-in-law's totaled 07 ms6

The atp exhaust side is not too large. Up to 450whp the 3071 is great but closer to 500 the 3076 is better suited.

Also keep in mind that the stock motor is not reliable in the long term much past 400.

The ram air fmic comes with a maf housing that is too small for those power levels. You need. 3.5" maf housing.

The awd project sounds great. Details on the mz3 awd build?

Not sure if it matters to you but the cpe mani has a 44mm EWG flange, and if memory serves me right the atp EWG hotside uses a 38mm.
