(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got the car in, on the lift, wheels off and started to take the mock up motor up and out of the bay. New @KotzurRacing; built motor with the streetlight flywheel on. @KotzurRacing; right here with my ACT 6 puck @SofaKingAwesome; was a big help yesterday as well, thank you for that! Clutch and then pressure plate on @MS3LUKE; managed not to get his face in a picture but HUGE thanks to him, the master mechanic that seems to get shit done in a fraction of the time it would normally take someone. To snorkle or not to snorkle? (Mocking up fitment) Installed @Tokay444; injector seals! Mazdaspeed all the way around here.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Went by the shop for an hour or so to tinker with the car and put the little bits on... For anyone taking their engine out, USE BAGS AND LABELS. Shit feels like putting a lego city together without the instructions. "hmmm this bolt looks like it fits".. Been looking at other peoples threads just for half taken apart engine bay pics for reference. The ceramic coating @KotzurRacing; did on the manifold finished baking today and looks damn good.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So, Started off the SP63 PI kit yesterday. Took apart the trunk and the back seats to get everything wired and routed. Mounted the fuses and relays between the back seats and the cover in the trunk, rolled the excess wire up and ziptied it down, and put bolted the two grounds in the harness to the existing bolt circled in red on the bottom right of the 2nd picture. Started doing the wiring for the top hat and the routing along the driver side to the front under the dash. Then it came to this little bitch This wouldn't have been a problem but I didn't get any instructions in the box on any of the wiring except for the SplitSecond stuff. So 6 wires and 6 pins and no idea what order they go in. Got a bit more frustrated when I checked another build that had this same kit had this already pinned and together out of the box Couldn't get anyone on the phone since its sunday but emailed @SPEEDPERF6RMANC3; asking for the directions and wiring diagram so that should be back to me today hopefully. But had to stop there for the fuel pump part. @KotzurRacing; and my buddy Hunter were working on the wiring and routing and what not up front and got the JMF manifold put together and ready to go in.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got The injectors and lower engine harness all buttoned up yesterday and got the JMF mani on. The JMF didn't want to fit with the power steering pump on the car, it was hitting the housing itself. @KotzurRacing; took a cutter wheel to the corner. Cut that bit out. After welding it back up the bitch still didn't fit, hit right on the bolt of the pump and the corner weld. I took a grinder to the corner and then smoothed it out and got it to fit, but just barely. JMF said they would take care of the issue if it still doesn't work.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Jim has been aware of this issue, along with the dip stick mount issue and the issue with the dowel hole on the upper most part of the flange on the driver side of the head. These were all changes they made from Scott's original design, and none of them have been addressed to date. But, at least the manifold flows like a complete beast. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Update So, started off yesterday by removing the evap system. Thanks to @Code Monkey; for showing it is possible. Led me to think of a good idea you will see in a moment. We put the fuel pressure regulator for the PI kit in the evap systems place! No drilling holes in the spare tire holder and I can actually keep my spare with me. Decided since I took out the evap system I would use the oem hard line that ran to the intake manifold for vacuum for the boost line to the regulator. Put a 5/16 hose over that line to the area of the regulator, looked at lowes for a fitting to go from the 5/16 hose to the size of the boost lines we had and couldn't find one. So @KotzurRacing; said fuck it and machined one for me. Got that all buttoned up and looped the hose from the tank to the breather just as code money did. All done on this part. Got all the lines ran up front, tightened everything up and the fuel system was done. got the turbo on, clocked, oil lines done, downpipe attached, all intercooler pipe redone except the cold pipe across the VC since still working there. Decided to test the fuel system for leaks before getting any farther. Get in, turn the key, fuel pumps don't prime. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s3b1i8c1r...CPCBP1d5g4vjRa those are the directions I got from @SPEEDPERF6RMANC3; for the wiring of the kit. That and @psychophyr; thread on his build i was able to piece together the wiring. Got the 2 red(power) wires at the end of the harness to the battery, got the two black grounds by the fuel pump grounded to the car, pinned the 6 pin connector just as SP63 said, red to red, black to black and small to small(polarity doesnt matter since the two reds are power for the pumps and two blacks are grounds and the two small ones are for the fuel level sensor). Got the solid yellow and orange to the yellow and black wire under the dash on the blue connector and then the striped ones to the black and white wire above the black and yellow on the same blue connector. got the two wires from the oem top hat connector wired right (purple to yellow/green, purple/black to purple/white) Still nothing. @MS3LUKE; did all the wiring since he is a lot more experienced with wiring than me and when he used a power probe to check ground and power on all the wires he gave ground to the (if he remembers correctly) striped wire going into the relay, and that flipped the relay and primed the pump. Happened on both relays, primed both pumps. Why? What are we missing here? Someone help out on this. I will be calling sp63 when I get the chance if i can't get any info from here. Will be back at it Saturday so hoping for a answer before then. Well, this kept my car from driving home last night Went home and dremeled out three rows for some better flow.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Looks tits, hopefully you get the PI working soon. ![]() As you have seen, I cut out the hump for the spare and am getting a flat piece of sheet metal welded there -- I thought about having a stealth install for the pump for my WMI kit in place of the evap system but considering how dusty it gets there the pump would most likely fail within a month.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got her outta the shop yesterday! Thank you @SPEEDPERF6RMANC3; for the troubleshooting help over the phone! Really appreciate it! Now just need to get the fmic piping cleaned up so my fogs will go in, fix a small oil leak on the turbo to drain, hood on and break in period.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score 200 miles left on the break in period. The left rear wheel speed sensor went bad so I've been going around in fail wheel drive mode which feels so weird in the 6, new sensor in the mail right now though.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got awd back now, fixed the wheel speed sensor. Turns out my intake mani was sucking too much oil out of the pcv through the catch can and was getting a lot of oil into the intake and causing white smoke so we revised the occ by making it vented and I have two lines going from the pcv plate to the can, not connected back to the intake mani. Runs a lot better after that switch. Also took the custom pcv plate off and welded a baffle plate in it to make sure to let as little oil as possible out. Also, a crows foot came off one of the injectors so we had to get another put back on, tightened the fuck out of it and retorqued the other 3 to be sure.
