I was thinking about this option however one of my friends had gone BT and blew his engine within a month... Might seem like a noob question, but how far would you be able to go power wise without you know, going zoom zoom boom.

It was a GTX and I put nearly 30k miles on it as a daily driver in a year. Made 386whp and 400wtq on that setup. Never had a problem except for a boost controller mishap at the drag strip. Almost ate a spark plug but everything was good. That turbo I sold to a friend who is still using it on his MS3 as a daily in conjunction with a TRD supercharger. All together that turbo probably has 50k miles on it by now and it was the first bolt on GTX turbo ever ran on a mazdaspeed. I definitely have to say it was worth the money...

The safety of the block is all in the tune.
