so here is my intake. not 100% sure if its gonna work or not. it is not the cp-e maf and i think i may run in to some problems with the air flow and how the ecu is programed in the big maf flash. i may end up cutting the maf off and attaching the cp-e one any way. great just another waste of money. i should have just got the cp-e maf to start with. o well u live and learn.

yeah youre good. i started with a 3" and a/f was 11.0 @ idle. as long as the internal dia. is 3.25" youre alright.

I've seen it in person, it's close to 3.25, but the fabricator just crushed the pipe and welded on some flat stock to bolt the MAF to. You can't see the distortion in the pipe in the pictures...

I think MAF is off enough that it will cause him some issues, especially when he starts turning up the boost. It may be close, but close isn't good enough when it comes to the MAF housing on a big turbo motor...

yea i had it made at the same shop that did my engine build and turbo install. it runs all the way back till the turbo inlet was 3.25 so its a true 3.25 intake. no step downs

i see what ur saying and am still not sure if its gonna be an issue. is there a way to tell ie: look at fuel trims or maf volts or somethin?

im gonna wait till jake comes back and bounce some ideas off him. like i said i may just have to cut some off and add theres to be certain its right. ive come this far whats another $200.00 to get it right.

Just watch the idle and part throttle fuel trims.. My CP-E MAF holds the trims around +-2%, I've never seen anything higher.

I don't think your housing is horrible or anything, but even 8 or 10% at idle could mean a huge difference at redline and 20psi, this car is hard enough to tune without having to compensate for incorrect MAF readings..

You can calibrate any maf housing with the MAF xfer table. It's really no different than what you do with the ap, except for changing the table directly, your simply tweaking the voltages to get the same effect.

Austin, if you need help with it, lemme know and i'll explain how you do it.


Quick, summary though:
log: Maf volts, LTFT & STFT, and do a steady pull from very light throttle. Don't get too heavy on the throttle cause you want to avoid tip-in enrichment.

Then check your log out, add up the STFT & LTFT to get your total trim at each maf voltage, and make some tweaks on the MAF xfer table.

I just did this last weekend, and worked well. I will note that i don't believe the MAF xfer table is in %, cause it took very small values like 2-4 to calibrate for trims that were off by like 10+.

UPDATE!!!............

so i went up to dc area and hit up jake from cp-e did a couple loops on his "race way" and did some street tuning. we got to 20.5 psi. and everything is spot on. i will post some dh logs latter on, im out of town and i dont have a computer i can get online that also has the program on it. i am going to get a bigger map and tune for more psi in the future and will continue to work with jake on that as well via e-tuning.

before the tuning car was sloww... when i say slow i mean prolly 290-310 whp nowww.... i can break loose and boost builds like a champ prolly in the 360-380 whp in less than 2 hours. now dont take these numbers to heart cause i didnt dyno tune and we deff arnt done yet. i will dyno this tune when i get home next week and see where im at now.

let me just say about jake --he sat in my pass. seat as we did these tunes. i would make a pull and he would do his thing and be like "go again" id hit it and have more power. this guy is the shit. if you are near him or not (hell i drove from nc) hit this man up. THANKS AGAIN JAKE.

i got to ride in this thing yesterday and wow. I want to go out and get my engine built tommorrow. This thing is nasty loud and I love it. Cant wait for the dyno tunes cuz you have the ability to make more power. Even with the car tuned how it is now it rides amazing and way smoother than any other tuned speed ive been in.
