dollar was just there for comparison and it was on a piece of paper so it didn't scratch my floor.

i would have much rather done a t3 with 3" v-band but this little atp will have to suffice for now. i did the numbers and it would have cost me another 1500 for all of that

so for my oil and coolant lines, should i be using some yellow teflon tape for the fittings?

i wasnt going to use any on the turbo itself, but i was going to for the ends on my ss lines.

any advice?

If you're using AN fittings, you do *not* want teflon tape. AN fittings are made to seal perfectly and teflon tape would just get in the way. You can use teflon tape on NPT fittings, though.

oh and the 71 comes with a .50ar on the compressor side and the 76 have a .60ar. good shit and good luck with the install its pretty simple

thanks i got the 76. if i get an ewg itll be with a nice twin scroll steedspeed t3 and that wont be for a while so for now the shitty little iwg will have to suffice.

A/R on the compressor side is basically inconsequential. A/R on hot side is where it really counts.

no take out the mani and then the ko4. then you will be able to put it in from the top. attach the oil return line and it will be a little more secure. you should have at least one person help you so you can do this.

it would be extremely difficult to do this install solo. even extra hands to hold shit would make a world of a difference

ms307nm is correct, doing it solo would really suck. Most of the job is really easy but getting the turbo up into place and bolting it up without help would be a pain in the ass.

^^ the first thing i do on the turbo installs is bolt the turbo up then i connect all the lines. I did this on both turd's stock k04 swap and triplejumper18's 3071 install. I find it way easier to just get it up there. I am not sure if 3's are the same but on the 6 you have to modify the oil drain by cutting it and extending it with hose so we ended up cutting it before the flex on the drain and then bolted that short section up to it outside of the car. Also both water lines were bolted up prior to the turbo even going into the car.

yeah its a little different for the 3's. no modifying the oil lines unless you are fabbing custom lines. since the op is doing the drop in he wont have to cut anything. once we did the drop in and got it back there we hooked up the return line and it allowed to let the turbo rest back there. then we bolted all the other lines up and the coolant to egr line comes already attached to the turbo.


once that was done we slapped the mani on then the dp and its pretty simple from there. its honestly really easy op and yes i would reccomend you remove the mani for the swap.
