DJ, so far are you seeing a big difference in BAT's with that big intercooler core? Mine are significantly lower with mine. I expected a difference, but I am very impressed with it, especially since 1/4 doesnt get much direct airflow. Just curious to see if you saw a big difference too.

Yeah, definitely much much much cooler bats. This IC + wmi results in stupidly low bat's hahahaha.

And so far ECT's haven't been an issue. I'll see just over 200 after doing a couple pulls and then parking and idling for like 5-10 minutes. Then once i start moving they drop witihin a couple minutes at most.

I'm still gonna fab up a splitter soon, maybe out of ABS plastic or something similar.



I'm excited for you to come down Ant. We're gonna fucking tear this city up hahaha.

It's 21 tapering to 17 right now. The taper is only cause i have the mbc all the way down, but i think it will flatten out a bit as i dial it up. Lately i've been giving it a half turn every time i drive the car (which has only been like 3 times). I'll run as much boost as i can, but i think i'll be knock limited without wmi. I'm tuning now with my pump off cause i don't have a failsafe.

So far though, car hauls balls. I'm like 80% done with my afr's, and next will be dial in boost, then street tune timing under 5700rpm and dyno tune the rest. Hoping on dyno friday

24k i think. We'll see how it all goes. As with any project, there's always bumps in the road, but it seems to be working out.

My dump pipe rattles a lil bit. And there is a new rattle at idle that comes from deep in the engine bay lol. It was the reason i did a 900rpm idle on my AP, but now i guess i have to actually fix it the right way lol.

I had a rattle at idle that sounded like it was coming from deep in the engine bay. It turns out there was a screw-in rivet missing. I don't remember exactly where it was but it was pretty obvious when I took off the undertray and got under there with the car running. I put a new one in and it stopped the rattle until a week later when it fell out so I replaced it with a 1/4-20 screw and nut.

i have a rattle like valve train i thought it was the vvt, but they say it only rattles first thing in the morning, till it fills with oil then quiets up, and i dont have that symptom so i dont know what it is..

Probably hang over from the last 7 years... hahaha. Or the onset of death.

Yeah, rigor's right, the VVT pin only rattles on cold start.



I just pulled my car up on ramps, changed the oil real quick (thank you fumoto drain valve, you make my life easy ), listened around, and it took me maybe 45 seconds to find the rattle:
OCC hitting part of the frame near the horn bracket. Gave it a good tug job (also homo) and rattle is gone

Also got my boost straightened out, now it's flat as an asian chick to redline. I prefer not to discuss that reason though, hahahaha cause it makes me look stupid (and lucky).


Tonight, i'll find my cel for crank position ckt low or whatever (i think p0335), and eliminate the dump tube rattle, and maybe fab up an aluminum cold pipe with the new tig.




And anthony, your gonna love this..... you were right. While SS offers better thermal properties for resistance to heat, once it soaks, it stays hot. And yesterday the temps were 3 digits here and my bats were alot higher than they should have been. Aluminum cold pipes ftw.

I have always kept a eye on the progress of your car djuosnteisn...I think your going in a very good direction..I believe that with proper tuning and making sure the fueling requirements are met this engine can take more abuse that what some people would say....24 psi 3071 stock block is prabaly pushing the limits lol..but you got the balls to do it, and thats just fuckin awesome..and having a built block as backup is plain smart..so job well fuckin done!

You seem like a really good guy and hope that things keep on working out and that you car makes awesome progress!

I've got afr's dialed in on no meth map, and it's likely a simple scale to dial in the meth map.

Went romping a lil today, but didn't run into anything fun really. Earlier in the day i want to get a bolt and toyed with an srt4. It was more stupid than anything. We'd floor it and it was insta-bus lengths lol. Then near my house i saw a modded s4 (not sure if it was turbo or not, but it was quick for sure, looked clean too). He got jump by like half car, and then it was an easy walk to like 120, probably 5 car lengths lol.

Car is fun. Tomorrow i'll go play with timing under 5700rpm and dial in meth map. Then dyno next week.

Also still need to fit a splitter or something to feed the radiator more air. I see like 210+ in traffic, lol. I'll prob just hack the stock splitter after all... hopefully it fits decently, but anything will help.

And lastly I need to trouble shoot my cel (p0335 crank signal low), which is prob either oil on the sensor (IIRC fixed it for spnkr21, Tim), or my bagillion wire taps off the ecu haha. Regardless, car drives fine, but i want it 100%.
