Well since I couldn't get any Corksport Cams I'll be testing the Kelford Stage 2 Cams https://www.kelfordcams.com/nz/camsh...shaft-set.html

We've made a monster out of the k04 by completely changing the internals similar to someone in the club here I recall until a bolt smash his turbo.

I actually blew my cylinder wall since the new k04 so it's getting sleeved, half inch studs (because IDGAF), XSPOWER Manifold, Kelford Stage 2 Cams, Manley H Rods, SpeedPerformance Pistons.

Yeah fuck K04 + Cams. Let's see

Cool. I'm not sure if you referred to me as the person with a modified K04, but your description does sound like me.

Nice yes probably you. I'm CTA which is Cyborg Tuning Alliance I'm on Facebook.

I have already been successful with getting excellent boost pressures and cooler bats but I blew the cylinder wall because I didn't get a downpipe and stock manifold

Uh, what? You blew a hole in a cylinder because you had restricted airflow on the exhaust side?

See attached.

Too much boost, too much back pressure.

The famous cylinder 3 cracked. We all know the 3rd port on the exhaust manifold flows the most out of the 4 and is usually cylinder 3 that breaks out first.

So, stock downpipe and stock manifold is just plain stupid in my honest opinion. Expensive mistake but it's going to be fun when it's done.

Every other car I tune is more stockish boost with high timing and more

You mean stock frame, modified k04, right?
I'm assuming you have a stock manifold, too.

No I got 28psi from a stock unmodified turbo.

The turbo did sound like it wanted to snap in half though, that's my thing, I like testing random maps too.

I've found a map to adjust the intake manifold runners as well but only on the Mazdaspeed 3 gen1 and Mazdaspeed 6. I want to further test this but I'm not 100% convinced yet to say yes it makes a difference. Our DYNO needs a new brake module so once it's replaced I'll be testing the new setup

Can you explain, a map to adjust intake manifold runners?

The runners inside the intake manifold are controlled by a vacuum, when I get my car back I will be doing 2 tests.

1. DYNO testing it for power increase down low and up top, I know that less air flow down low helps with torque and opening helps for flow up top, BUT I will be doing a 0 throughout the rev range and 88.67 (Which is OPEN wide on the map)
2. Hooking up a vacuum gauge to see the changes reflected in the map

It's all very exciting actually, I also want to mess with a random map I found on the Mazdaspeed 6's, which could be the 4WD engagement since it's electronically controlled

I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that the stupid high temps from pushing the k04 far too hard played a big role in cracking the cylinder.

But do create a different thread for this since I'm sure others, especially @zenit; have further questions for you.

Any update on dyno videos or big turbo potential. HP gains? Highers revs?
