(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score @CorkSport; I bought less than one year the Corksport front camber plate. After, just one alignment the 4 bolts to adjust the camber are stripped ... (I know it's special, I don't align by myself ... I can't explain why ... but I go to the best place for alignment here in Québec they align sport cars, racing car, etc (I pay a lot for their service). I wrote a email to Kelly from Corksport and here the answer : "Hello and thank you for your email, I have a bit of bad news to share. I'm sorry to say I'm unable to source the requested hardware for the camber plates. I can, however offer a new set at a discounted rate of $300.00 plus shipping. Please let me know if you're interested in the new option." Why I need to pay another 400$ with the shipping forthe same product with the same 4 bolts that can be stripped ... when you can just send me the 4 bolts and that's it ??? I don't understand ... What you think about that

| Not Ranked : 0 score Source them yourself. Fastenal or Grainger should have similar. Corksport doesn't build them in house so they don't have the hardware without robbing them off another set on the shelf. The fact that they're stripped means someone exceeded the torque specs tightening them down. There are some mechanics out there that aren't exactly careful about tightening parts down just so, especially on an aftermarket part where they won't have any specs to go by.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @CorkSport; Two options. Either measure the bolt yourself (dia, length, thread, bolt head dia), or better yet ask kelly for the bolt spec. If they are not machined bolts made specifically for this purpose, there is a parts list that corksport has that defines this bolt. If it is, they should be able to provide you with dimensions. Make sure you get the hardness spec as well, and find it on mcmaster.com or get it anywhere else really. No need to pay another $300, but I agree with @someguy; that this is user error (not you) and not corksports responsibility for the part. But, I see no harm in them providing you with part specs.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I did look up at the top, and this is what I saw. So I told you what I thought. I'm all for product support, but if you're complaining about how it will cost $100 to ship new camber plates from the US to Canada, it's probably more in your self-interest to work on sourcing some replacement -- and possibly more suitable -- bolts yourself locally. Takes some note on that.

I just want good service and I don't understand why they can't deserve spare part for their product ... it's just that. I know I can find new one locally. For me, it's important for the community to know all that for their future purchase.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @Atomic41; OT, but on another note how are you making current VD Numbers : 330 hp / 392 lbft given your mods in your sig? It's either default CF, you were going downhill or yours is a mutant that has the highest torque of any k04 car I've ever seen. I could see 330HP with E85 and a really good tune but that torque is just an imaginary #. I would love to see the log that produced that.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @Atomic41; I'm sorry about this situation. Have you tried emailing Kelly back to let her know that you don't think that this is fair? Maybe there is another solution we have not come to yet? I do believe your easiest route and cheapest would be to find some bolts locally, but I would like to find a solution that works for you and us. I would recommend emailing Kelly back who you have been working with. I will let her know about this thread so she can see your concern also. Thanks!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Legitimate questions: Did you use threadlocker on those bolts? You probably shouldn't do that to bolts designed to be loosened repeatedly to facilitate adjustment. I haven't seen those plates in person, but if the bolts are threaded into aluminum, you probably should've used anti-seize when you installed them. Did you cut the shock tower for clearance? If not, was your shop using a ball-end Allen wrench to loosen the bolts? That wouldn't help either.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The plate that the bolts are screwed into is steel. The thread size of the bolts is M6 x 1.0 and the torque specs we list on the bolts are 13 ft/lbs. -Derrick |

| Not Ranked : 0 score At 13 ft/lbs there should be no bolt stripping. Tell the Hulk to quit wrenching on your car OP.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Firstly, I need to apologize for my bad english (I try but english is not my first language) I come back here to tell you my "REALLY BAD" story with KELLY customer service from Corksport. Like you see before (in this thread) ... I speak with Derrick about my problem (STRIPPED BOLT) with the hardware come with the Corksport top plate and I change it with the spec Derrick gave me. After I speak with her about my problem of clunking noise (coming from my Corksport top plate camber). She tell me to ship my camber plate to them for exam and after they will decide what they can do for me. I did everything she ask (pay the shipping fee from canada) everything to solve my problem. Kelly tell that his engineer see warped top plate do to the new hardware that doesn't fit. So I told to her Derrick say me these spec and it's why I install these bolt. So short story long ... Kelly doesn't want to do anything for me else than refund me 80% of the price of the Corksport top plate and she doesn't want to ship me new one to solve my problem. I need camber plate with my H&R Coilover to adjust my front camber. What you think about it ... you think it's just to put this judgement to a good customer for argument like Kelly did. She not behind his product 100%. Why she don't want to send me new camber plate if her customer tell her that it's what he wants I buy a lot of part from them : Corksport boost tube Corksport front lower bar Corksport mid chassis brace (need to weld the plate again because their weld was so bad - they create rattle under my car)(I want with Kelly again no help from her)(I need to solve by myself) Corksport front endlink (return because rattle like crazy)(process is good no problem) Corksport Front camber plate (story right now) Corksport front and rear brake pad After all these purchases ... they can't help a good customer with no negative intention else than just have a other new top plate to solve this clunk problem and ride his Speed3 with good camber with his coilover. @CorkSport;

| Not Ranked : 0 score I did indeed give the wrong information on the hardware length and I accept responsibility for that. I pulled the wrong information up when I looked at it which did cause the problem of the bolts bottoming out on the camber plate slider. We are still not sure how you damaged the original bolts in the camber plates. I do not understand the negative intention comment though. -Derrick Last edited by CorkSport; 05-30-2014 at 04:10 PM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Not to stick the nose in this too far... But it looks like the negative intention was in reference to himself... He means that he has no negative intention when asking for a new camber plate, not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes, or pull a fast one, kind of thing. Just wants the product he originally had, that is needed for use with his suspension mods on his car. |
