Ordered mine. My only questions is why was it $21 to ship USPS priority mail from WA to MI? It seems like you could just put them in a medium flat rate box for $11 or so. I was a bit dissappointed to see that once I completed my order.

Didn't you check the shipping quote?
Mine's in the cart but $40 for tax and shipping (I'm in WA) ugh... my kingdom for %10, even %5 off... I'd add a stg2 intake then.
i really want this over the autotech but a $40 difference has my cart on hold... crap

Of course I checked the shipping quote. I still wanted to purchase them and at least give them a try before defaulting to Autotech internals - I'm just disappointed it is so much to ship them. Gotta support vendors that bring new parts to the market or else the market might dry up...

Tax is annoying! You can always come pick them up so you don't pay shipping! Where are you in Washington?

Also, I get the "throw it in a flat rate box" but I'm told we can't fit the fuel pump, plus install tools, T-shirt, instructions etc. easily in the small boxes.

If you want though, I'll gladly sell you a set of Internals for $399.99 with Free shipping!

I understand Corksport's position on free shipping. However, it is disappointing to have a number in your mind ($349.99) and then go to check out and have it be $20 more than you thought (especially for a small item). Anyways, I'm excited that Corksport brought these to the market and hopefully they are as good as the competition (or better!).

Is there some added benefit of an octagonal piston head that I'm unaware of? Or is it just a way to add to the marketing hype of "look what we have that the other guys don't"? This isn't some hate aimed at CS in any way, I'm genuinely curious what benefit, if any, this would offer the end user.

So, what happens if you use these on a stock tune? I don't want to have to remove the internals whenever I have to stock out for the dealer or get smogged. Can these just replace the stock internals in a stock engine and have everything work fine (with a bit more flow than stock when necessary)?

not to kill a sale but if your fuel is not dipping bone stock; you don't need it. and driving with the factory tune is bad.

but to answer your question nothing happens when you use them on stock tune.

Not everyone can be as good as JBR or Edge. Free shipping FTW!

If you look at his whole post, he's asking what would happen if you were modded to the point of needing internals but wanted to partially stock out. How would the car run while flashed back to stock tune? According to some of CS's info, they've made it sound like there might be problems with their internals on a stock tune.

From what I gathered it'll run rich, especially at higher RPMs, that the map will reduce quite a bit of fuel... so I'd guess it could be used without tune and be safe but not optimal?

If the pump overwhelms the spill valve you may have fuel cut problems so you may need to run a map with reduced fuel pressure targets.

Now this month is probably going to go by really slowly until they ship.

Im no expert but I would guess youre right Lex. Must be why there will be specific AP maps, hopefully available when the parts ship and for common setups. I know a protune is best but Id love the option of not needing one and still be risk free.

Ive been running these internals on an OTS stage I map for almost 3000 miles with no issues.I had it on a stock tune, stock setup for about 500miles before that. But it the custom maps we will have will be best.

Mother of God, why do I have Autotechs.

I have a serious appreciation for the detail in the white paper, if that attention to detail translated into the parts then this is a winner.

Good works guys

Yep, that's the idea. I'm actually stock at the moment, too much work stuff since I had to smog, and even then I just had a TIP and intake so I've been fine. But, I'm looking at adding a bit more to the engine, so I'll need the internals when I get to that, but I still need to be able to run stock if necessary. The Corksport statement that said "you need our custom maps" was a worry, but it sounds like it will run fine on a stock or non-Corksport map as well.

Was there a beta test program done with these like the BPV (the beta testers did get to share experiences on here with the bpv..if the pistons in these stick like some of the beta BPVs it wil be a bit more severe than a bit of flutter.
All the parts i have on my car from you guys are fantastic so far but with fuel delivery it can be very expensive if something fucks up after the initial grin.

These have been in physical testing for well over a year. This is a very important part to us and we wanted to be more than just confident in its ability. This is a part that is ready to go. We're almost out of the pre-order (I don't expect it to get past this coming weekend) so if you are on the fence, you don't have a ton of time left... at least in 2013.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Also, the shipping is a little higher on the pre-order because of the packaging and the free t-shirt. If you don't want the shirt you can call in to pre-order and we can remove it and try to get it in a smaller box. Also, our kit is a little bigger than others because we include installation tools, a high rate spring, full color instructions and a nice aluminum box that you'll probably keep for a while.

Cheers,
Joel

I'm a little concerned given that there was some discussion regarding custom maps being required for these pump internals. What is exactly the reason for this? And, it seems to flow too much for the rest of the hpfp assembly causing stress on one of the control valves? Can cs comment?

Custom maps are not required, but the MAF scaling from most other maps isn't quite right so you can get a bit better gas mileage and driveablility with our maps. As for the control valve, in all of our testing (which has been extensive) we have seen no issues with that.

Cheers,
Joel

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Also, the shipping is a little higher on the pre-order because of the packaging and the free t-shirt. If you don't want the shirt you can call in to pre-order and we can remove it and try to get it in a smaller box. Also, our kit is a little bigger than others because we include installation tools, a high rate spring, full color instructions and a nice aluminum box that you'll probably keep for a while.

Cheers,
Joel
So you are scaling the MAF to deal with the higher pump flow? Are the pressures under control or are they above target? I want to know what to expect when I come across customers running the CS pumps.

Lex,

The cars run fine without scaling but every tune should have a different scale for every different intake. We noticed the pump was a little bit better at maintaining the target pressures set by the ECU but I don't really talk about that because I don't have any graphs at the moment. That being said, yes, proper tuning is suggested but not 100% needed. We will be offering maps free of charge when we release but somebody could get a much better tune tailored to their exact car and their environment from Lex and Stratified.

Cheers,
Joel

Are you running for political office somewhere. You did not give him an answer you just danced around it. I am not saying this part isn't good. But you have a community asking you for more information. Then you have someone like lex a well respected tuner of this platform asking why you need to scale the maf and again you just dance around it. Just like a politician just answer the questions you are asked directly is it that hard

I'm unclear... The question was, by my estimate, answered twice. Yes, we are, and you should but it has not shown it to be detrimental to the car in our testing if you do not in any way.

You are hopeless. Stop being an engineer and run for political office it would suit you better

The direct question was answered, but i feel the underlying and obviously implied question was not, thats what i believe Deldran was getting at.

Lex asked if the MAf was scaled, which you said no, but its implied he was looking for an answer as to how these maps control fuel in some way that is so unique as to need corksport OTS maps. A question that I as a (very small scale mind you) tuner have also asked on a few occasions and has not yet been answered...
