but the fact remains they're regularly sending products to market that have flaws which make the parts useless, defective, and/or dangerous for your engine.
Yeaaaah, I know everyone is excited about camshafts, but the first thing I wondered is just how much testing did something like that go through? I'm talking like, long term testing for reliability?

Hell, even their hood struts for the Gen1 don't seem to be working out quite right. Still have yet to purchase a corksport product and haven't found an excuse yet.

The only thing I can say about corksport qc is that I had an absolutely awful fitment issue as well. I had ordered the led light kit for my ms6 (because rice, o and blown bulbs), while there was nothing wrong with the bulbs, the damn case they sent them in was absolute crap, no matter what I did it would not stay closed by itself, it's still sitting in a drawer in my desk half open because the damn thing just won't stay closed.

But on a serious note, their customer service is awesome in my opinion. When they still had them, I ordered the powerslot rotors and hawk hps pads for my ms6. The shipping did seem a little high (I can't remember what it was) to me but I figured that was just due to the weight of the rotors. About 2 weeks or so later I received a letter, along with a check for about half what I paid for shipping, in the mail stating basically that they had found out they COULD have shipped it for cheaper than what they did had they used a different method. They in no way had to do this, and I wouldn't have expected them or any other company to do that at all.

I have had nothing but great customer support from CS. Got sent the wrong part one time and they shipped the correct one out the next day, for free, and personally called me. I have dealt with @Spencer@CorkSport quite a few times and have not one complaint. Why try and modify a part when you know damn well the company will fix it if it doesn't fit out of the box? Not smart on your part whether you had a car show in 3 days or three weeks. That is a golden rule in the car community. Good luck with your SURE parts.

News flash, these are parts for cars of which no two are exactly the same off the factory floor...not to mention whatever changes each of us have made.

I have a lot of CS parts, some CP-E parts, and even had a SURE part on my car. I have had something from each company not fit quite right...and that's to be expected in this game IMHO.

- CorkSport took care of my problems.
- CP-E took care of my problems.
- SURE (OP's "sponsor") only took care of my problem after a massive forum uprising, @Haltech; compiling enough evidence to start a trial against SURE, and their being banned from the forums.

None of these companies are perfect. I don't think it's possible to be perfect in this market. What makes the difference is how that company takes care of any problems that come their way....and for that, CorkSport has gotten many of my dollars.

I'm still a brownie and I know better then to modify brand new parts to make them fit then complain about wanting them to be covered under warranty. And wanting store credit. I mean come on be serious.

Brownie or not, car part or not. You don't modify anything brand new and expect for it to be replaced... It's called having god damned common sense

Engines vary in output and response to mods.

Panels have differences in tolerances.

Things shift a bit as a car puts on the miles as well.

Basically, cars are not carbon copies of each other. They are assembled of the same parts which have acceptable tolerances where size or shape may very slightly differ...then they are all bolted together within acceptable tolerances for gaps and such, then they are shipped across the Pacific then driven on bumpy roads.

So, TLDR...there are differences in all of our cars in both performance and fitment.

Of course, in terms of mm tops. If it were a true issue, then every single manufacturer ever would have tons of fitment issues. As stated cs has problems with quality control, not with speeds being unicorns or something.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. In all the cars and mods I've been through, it's far from uncommon to have to mess with things a bit to get a part to fit just right.

I like CS and I have a decent amount of their parts on my 6 and have had very little issues (only one being a very tight squeeze to make the turbo inlet fit). With that said though it's been quite some time since I've bought parts from them and while I do plan on buying more parts from them I have become quite wary of all the of the issues that have popped up with QC. But one of the biggest issues I've always had is their product description and images. Example: I'm interested in getting a 3" intake yet their site says some modification may be required to fit a 6, on MSF CS commented saying that it fit fine yet they gave no pictures of it fitting and if it fit fine then why would they say modification may be required on their product page? The little things that help reassure a customer's confidence in a product is what I really want from CS.

IMO, you have to CALL corksport to get issues handled properly. Email/PM support is lacking, but you can only expect so much. It's much easier to convey your story and for them to explain things on the phone.

I was told via PM that I could not purchase replacement gaskets/hardware for a CS testpipe that I bought used. I called them and derrick had shipped it out to me the next day. Kim actually called me back when she said she would when I had a question about another order. A call back is hard to come by from a lot of companies these days. I've been happy with all of my corksport parts. I had their TMIC on my genwon, which did have some minor fitment issues with the engine cover, but meh. The trans mount insert fit perfectly, no issues there. The testpipe leaks at the rear flange, regardless of what I do, but it was purchased used and the OEM catback has seen better days, so there's a lot of room for issues outside of CS's control on that.

Overall, I think Corksport makes solid parts and does what they can customer service wise. I work in customer service in the automotive industry, so I can also understand their side of things. They can only do so much, when everyone wants free shit or perfection. At least they actually recall the bad parts unlike some companies...

tl;dr: suck a dick faggot.

As for this whole ordeal, I feel as much fun as it is to bash stupid ass OP, I feel like neither OP or CorkSport is definitively "right" here. One can argue whether modifying the parts really makes them unacceptable for return. But on the other hand, why the fuck did you have to modify them for a "car show" that was probably lame as fuck anyway..?

Regardless.. Corksport's state had likely not been altered by this thread, whether or not that's a good thing, I do not know. *sigh*

Meanwhile in Africa..

^^ Yeah no kidding

I have a small stack of Corksport parts and they all fit nicely and their CS has been fantastic even by email late at night after hours.

The front sway fits perfectly btw, not sure if I followed up with you guys on it. It's a bitch to get in there though, had to unbolt the power steering rack and use a pry bar to move it enough to get it in. Guess I should have called and asked for store credit or something.
