Default Race rmm bushing failure

Hit the track last night for the first time on the nexens the dealer put on my car, had 1 decent launch of a 2.21 60ft and it hopped pretty bad, did this to my rmm

anyone else had an issue with the bushing ripping out? it was torqued properly and installed properly

If that happened to your rmm I hope you checked your transmission mount for damage. The oem is pretty weak.

Wow that's crazy. My problem wasn't quite as big as this but I did have some large cracks in the urethane near the center of my mount after only 6 months of daily driving. I'm sure if I was racing it would have been much much worse.

I immediately sent the issue to Corksport and they sent me replacement urethane within a week. I will be checking my mount every month to see how the new inserts hold up. From my knowledge there has been no changes made to the urethane so I'm a little concerned it will happen again. Time will tell and I will post up here if the issue still continues.

Calling a company AND posting this information is not bad at all to do. The community has a right to know about all things good and bad and shouldnt have things covered up.

im happy with the customer service and the parts.

stuff breaks from time to time, good companies know this and take care of it when it happens.

I remember seeing this on MSF but at that time the OP fitted the mount upside-down. I guess it's not the case here, but that's the only occasion I've seen something similar.
Also make sure you torque that vertical bolt properly.

I have two sets of spare bushings just in case because I'm aware that big torque and still soft-ish bushings may not play well together for a long time.

I did a few launches as well and a lot of pulls and hard driving, engine braking from high RPM, I've also been through breaking in a Stage2+ Spec clutch kit, and the original set seems to have already soften up a bit after more than one year of use and about 11k miles on it, so I guess it's time for another set.

Next time I'll order from @CorkSport I'll make sure to add two more sets of bushings in my cart, and one will be the 80DURO set just to see how it works for me, because if it will soften up a bit as well it may be just perfect.

This mount is still the best for my linking I came across so far, and over more than 4 years of tuning this car I've had a few mounts to make an opinion.

I would like to hear that list of weird crap. I am toying around the idea of running a pu in SCCA T3 and any heads up on weird broken parts would be great.

The 80 duro is actually 85 duro, and it's stiff as shit. Mine hasn't mellowed out in 3000 miles yet, either. It's definitely a tradeoff, better turn-in and a more solid front end comes with noticeable NVH, especially in cold temperatures.
