Pulled out and reinstalled my oem downpipe in about 6 hours on jack stands from underneath the car but I have been working on hondas nissans and miscellaneous GM products for years so this was really nothing new. What also helps a downpipe mod is doing it before 10k miles are on the car shit comes out much smoother.

In for whenever datalogs are posted

My time was removing the oem one, gutting it, and reinstallig it. That is why it took 6 hours. Oh and a run to harbor freight for the impact extensions that pivot. Those are a must.

My car has the passenger axle pressed into the hub 1/2 thread off. So when I swap axle, hub gets to go too. Same with my passenger brake caliper bracket. That was fun to have overnighted when it stripped out.

If the downpipe nuts did not fight, would have helped. A lot.

You did all of the hard shit for swapping the downpipe. Should have done it while you were there.

Subbed for logs, VDyno, charts, graphs, and pics of @Raider shirtless. Also banging head into wall for having to pull out of beta test.

Nope. Found out right away and tried using more PB blaster and waiting to no avail. Ordered a replacement just in case for take 2. Ended up needing it. Screwed the threads up pretty bad getting it out.

Thanks for posting. Can't wait to see some logs and results. I'm glad I've decided to do the DP first before any turbo upgrades.

Updated OP with before and after 3rd gear runs for comparison. Again, I have OEM 2 port EBCS issues unrelated to the turbo. I just need a better solution, and @jdmage_mx5; has been awesome to help speed things up.

Thanks for the write up! Ordered mine this morning and have DP waiting. Probably going to do that at the same time. Your issues with the OEM BCS...would you recommend just going head and getting the 3 port EBCS to avoid any future tuning issues?

Cut the OEM downpipe out, and scrap it. Destroy it's every being. If I could see it melted down, I would be all about that too.

And ABSOLUTELY get a 3 port (need to tell your tuner too!) to not be like me. They had another near stock like mine test fine with OEM. But they are not me. They do not have the evil car. If I had a flat billed had on sideways, and was running 45 degrees of camber, I would give my car a name. It would be Christine, like the movie.
CorkSport, mjblank425 and Awal like this.

Raider what is going on with the stock 2port? Looks like you are holding boost pretty easily with 30% wgdc and maf volt is higher than it was on stock turbo. Looks like you are already at 4.7 maf volts at low boost with that CS turbo, which is moving some air

We are just not able to get the boost we are mapped for.

@Raider; did you keep the stock BCS routing or did you interrupt the 1/4" nipple side of the WGA and cap the 1/8" side like some people recommend doing? That is how mine is routed.

We do not have any plans to do that.

Someone needs to create a product that we can pour into our oil that will ONLY damage the stock K04 so that we have an excuse to upgrade. Oh wait, isn't that called Mobil 1?

Once you do swap out the stock dp, go Office Space on that fucker with neganox and Yanahdi. Might not do much to it, but would be oh-so-satisfying. Pics too. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

Question for Raider and others who have this turbo. I have a COBB SRI intake and wonder if this will play nice with the corksport turbo (size wise)? I am only tuning it to 350HP ...so MAF should be ok, just talking about dimensions. Thanks

The corksport puppy is stock inlet size. As it is a bolt on design, even the stock intake will fit ( though definitely not recommended) so if you have the stage 2 or stage 1 corksport intake, it will work fine

Thanks alot for the information. As I said I have a COBB intake and not really interested in replacing it as I like the design. The COBB one looks the same size as the CS stage 2 (easily bigger than stage 1)....but not sure of size.

Oh sorry, I misread, that's what I get for being at the gym and on the forum haha. My apologies!
The Cobb SRI uses the same 2" ID diameter as stock standard, so there won't be any size issues. It's only when you go 3" or bigger, even then, it's just a matter of using a silicone reducer. So sizing won't be a problem

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand where your going with that. The Cobb SRI you have currently installed will fit the Corksport turbo, it is also the same size as a stock intake, so as far as MAF's go, there is no issue. If you do decide to upgrade to a 3", a new MAF housing comes with it, you will then need to do a MAF calibration but once that is done, there are no problems again.

So as far as your current intake is concerned, it will fit without problems.
