Underhood LED kit couldn't fit.

I bought their LED underhood kit from the Gen 1 section, and lo and behond, it doesn't fit a Gen 1. There is simply no place for it to attach without falling off eventually, getting crushed, or melting.

I asked for a refund and they said normally it's all sales are final, but they'd make an exception for me. Of course I'd have to send it back at my own cost, and pay a 20% restocking fee! For something that doesn't fit!

What the hell?

Nah, I'm Mexican-American.

I'm not trying to show off my (stock) engine, it just helps working in the dark as I don't have electricity in my garage.

The instructions say it fits in the front of the hood, between the IC scoop opening and the hood. But even Luke from corksport himself said he can see the 1st gen scoop doesn't allow installation like a gen 2, so he started the return process.

Just waiting to hear back from Kelly on what's going to happen.

those led are for a car show type, not really what you use to work on the car with.

That's awsome! I bought some "head lights" that you strap to your head like a spelunker from Wal-Mart over the weekend, but ill definitely look into that bar.

That was my second guess! It just seems from your signature that you REALLY like LEDs. Like more than the average person.

I've seen the underhood kit in person. If you're using that as a source of light to do work in the engine you're doing it wrong. If you were stuck on the side of the road at night and needed to do a quick repair, it'd be passable but no way is that going to be your best solution. That money could be better spent on something that is built for providing a source of light.

If you bought them as a functional addition to your car, you'll be let down unless the things you're doing are quick little fixes. Cosmetically, I guess its a cool little feature. I hate LEDs so I'll never go out of my way to put more of them on my car but as I said early, to each their own. Different strokes for different folks.

i moved it to a new thread. Technically those LED kits are universal, so they work on any car. and you just have to fit a spot for them. Most likely in the front like others have put them.

Amazing how no one else has ever complained about this. There are a bunch of places it can go, just have to use the thing up in your head called a brain.

With the amount of money you spent on overpriced LED's, you could have got internals and a tuning solution and actually had a quick car, instead of being a LED whore.

To each their own, I spose. Why an under hood LED kit is something you want, I don't know. It's a stock 4 banger turbo, who really wants to see one at night, especially a stock one.
