2006 MS6, 112k miles. Tracked a few times on a small road course, and driven "aggressively" daily (I go through tires in 9-10k on average). Most of the problems are probably directly related to me driving it.

Here's what went bad and I had to replace/upgrade:
  • Timing chain stretched, so did all that + VVT
  • Power steering pump
  • Thermostat
  • Leaking transfer case covered under warranty, twice
  • Transmission mount bushing tore, replaced with AWR
  • Rear diff front mount bolts sheared, replaced with SURE

My rear endlink bushings are shot, so need to replace those. I have gear whine pretty loudly in the lower gears, the mount doesn't help there of course. I have that transmission leak from on top of the case. I never replaced the clutch, and I'm assuming the prior owner didn't (bought it at 44k miles). I went through some Hawk HPS pads and have plenty of life left on the budget Posi Quiets.

Mods - AEM cold air, accessport, 1 colder plugs, JBR rear motor mount.

'07 GT 100,350 miles on the clock, mods in sig. Had to replace smoking turbo with BNR and still on the factory clutch although it's on the way out. Other than that zero issues at all.

So they are going to cover the Transmission issue, 2nd gear popped out on down rev, and we couldn't get the turbo to smoke on 3 different occasions on a 20 minute idle, so we couldn't prove the turbo smoke issue. Transmission is on the way here

This thread makes me happy. I bought mine last year at 34k, sitting at 65k now and everything is original except RMM, RSB, SSP, SRI and tune.

Damn this is promising. Bought new and I am at 83k miles now with original brakes/clutch. Only things replaced has been rear shocks at 50k and slave cylinder at about 80k.

I have been at various points of modding throughout its life.

Just about to hit 140,000 in my 07 ms3 as far as I know no smoking turbo or major work from the records I have from the previous owner. Been doing just fine.
Although the timing chain isn't loose I still here an extra tick that shouldnt be there mabe fp? Just sri and bpv. Hopefully rmm, occ, and donate when I get my financial aid deposited lol

On a side note is this car really not that reliable? When I first got the car and researched here that shit made me paranoid. But I never had an issue then again I try not to pound the crap out of my car anyways

At 103,xxx. Stock Clutch (surprised) but recently had to change the shift cable which was a drain on my bank account. Everything stock besides SSP, BB, Rotors, Pads. Nothing big done yet but working on it with a college budget.

Try a fluid flush first (should take care of the whining for a while). If you see metal shavings in it,check the steering rack for leaks.

Back to the thread, noob here (with the car and the forum): 300 miles, car bought about a week ago.

Dealer added something to it while they were doing the tranny and the whining stopped. I flushed it at 87k

i even had a sticky note on my dash from 99900 on and i still forgot....now im somewhere around 115,000 i think! still kicking and untuned with plenty O Mods....except a fuel pump, because who needs one of those! hahahahaha

Certainly is cool to see others having such great success with their ms6's!!!! Its one of the lowest maintenance cars i have owned, blow through attempts aside LOL!!!!!

It's rough I am looking to flush P/S, Trans, Diff, and Transfer Case fluids and they are fucking expensive. All shops are quoting me like 500 for full synthetic. I'd do it myself but I have no tools.

Sent probably while speeding.

I'm sure they are (never done them) and its probably cheaper to buy tools and do it myself but the P/S seems more complicated for 6's.

Covered under warranty, otherwise I would have done it myself haha. It was free so it works for me

2007 MS3 GT
146k miles, daily driven, maybe one or two auto-x but no track time. Stock other than COBB intake and turbo inlet.

-Struts @ 60 (replaced with HR coils)
-1 full brake job @ 70 or so (is in need of a second)
-EGR valve cleaning around 90
-CV boot somewhere around 100
-Differential locking pin broke and exited the differential with some zest (New Diff and slave cylinder neeed, plus clutch and flywheel while I was in there)
-VVT actuator and timing chaing job at 120
-Turbo @ 130 (was starting to leak oil and smoked rather bad, new K04 center section and good as new).
-Needed a new windshield for a long time, but always at the bottom of the money list

- Runs much better with new turbo. Throw-out bearing or something clutchy makes a horrible racket..but still functions. So it seems to be trouble free at the moment (crosses fingers).
I love it to death, but sometimes I think it is actively trying to make me get rid of it.

Not quite at 100k yet! 06 ms6 with 93,xxx miles. Getting close! lol. Of course, the new engine and clutch only have ~6,000 miles on them. So hoping for at least another 100k miles with no problems
