(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  2008 Mazdaspeed3 gearbox Just joined the forum as i am considering purchasing a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with 95k miles. No mods that the seller has disclosed. The car drives well and looks to have been maintained well enough. My concern is the gearbox. This is the only Mazdaspeed 3 i have driven and its difficult to tell when you are shifting in reverse or first gear. Normally there is a "bump" of some sort in the gear box so you dont accidentally shift in 1st. Is this normal? Could this be a short shift upgrade? Thanks in advance. |

| There is a reverse lockout. You should have to push the knob down before you can engage reverse.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks. This car definitely has a worn lockout. Is it normal for it to wear out? Anyone replace the lockout mechanism? |
