| Not Ranked : 0 score so do you need the new ATR to transfer your current map? or can I just load my current map onto the V3 AP? Reason I am asking is because I wont receive ATR until the the morning and my car wont run if I dont have the current map installed. big turbo unicorn problems

| Not Ranked : 0 score Need to request ATR from Cobb so it's on your v3's serial number. If you don't the old map will say that it's locked to the old serial number and you won't be able to flash it to the ECU

And clear up the confusion ? Why couldn't they just keep it so that your current ATR would work with the new AP, just seems like a hassle.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Easy-peasy- ATR has always been serial number locked to your AP. When you get your new copy of ATR just open & save your map(s) that you want to use on the v3, then copy to the AP & flash like usual. The open & save in ATR is all that's needed for the map to learn the new serial number. No need to change anything, just open & save.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Received it yesterday, luckily I was included in the first batch. I have to say I really like this V3 so far. Being able to moniter 6 things at a time is really nice. Plus the bigger screen is really practical with other things, like going through menu's and stuff. Another thing I'm really happy with, and I wasn't aware of when purchasing, is that I can switch to metric values. So instead of PSI I can use kPa, and Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. Very usefull for us Euro guys (and other countries who use the metric system). Although I really like the magnet holder, unfortunately there isn't a clip included to clip it onto the vent like with the Proto Tuning Tool Holder.
but the ball size of the sticky one provided is a bit larger then the ball size of the Proto Holder, so I wasn't able to use the Proto mount balls with the Cobb mount ball.I have a Genwon so pretty much don't have a good place to stick it (I want it on the left side of the steering wheel, I already have to much going on the right side) other then on the door like some others have done. So I ended up sticking the sticky part of the Proto on the Cobb holder, and using the Proto vent clip to put it on the left vent. Hard for me to explain in Eglish sorry, I will post a pic later today to make it perfectly clear ![]() I do have to say that I really have to shove the vent clip super tight on the vent to keep it staying in place, because the V3 is twice as heavy as the V2.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ya'll remember that the DH just needed to be on or off- no fancy logic involved. The AP has programming duties that involve cycling the key, so there is fancy logic that has to be accounted for beyond just the simple "do I need to be here" that the DH used.

The reason for this is because they want a platform independent way of doing it on the V3, whether it be a Subaru, Nissan, BMW, or Mazda. This is because some cars have "wake up on CAN message" functionality, and can turn on the ECU out of power down state if the OBD-II is queried externally. Again, that side of the code is written by the V3 hardware team and not by me, so when they feel it is ready then it will be released. The point here is it will happen, so just be patient ![]() -David@COBB | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just had an issue were my custom maps wouldnt allow the AP to connect to the ECU and monitor/log. It would allow me the change maps but thats it. I installed an OTS map and it allowed me to log/monitor, so something is up in ATR I take it. Cobb is aware and working on the issue.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Since I installed my v3 this morning right after completing an engine swap I'm running a 0 WGDC map with the BNR while things break in. My own custom map converted from a v2 by opening/saving in the new version of ATR. It was able to log fine, FWIW. I was just reviewing the logged data. Gauges/monitoring appears to be working too. Can't decide if I like the flashing blue lights when logging or not....

| Not Ranked : 0 score For all the guys with genwons, where are you putting the sticky mount at? I was looking at where to mount this thing and there's really not much room to put it. I'd preferably have it on the right side

| Neutral : +1 score This is how I mounted the V3 on my Gen2. I used my V2 Proto Tuning Tool vent mount. The ball on the V2 is a bit smaller than the v3 mount so I put some tape on it. I can move it in landscape position to.

| Not Ranked : 0 score As promised the pics, hope this helps @rfinkle2; As you can see the ball of the mount provided is a bit larger then the Proto mount ball The measurements below are in centimeters, pic didn't come out to great, but I hope you can get an idea of difference in ball size Here I used the sticky mount part of COBB with the Proto vent clip. Not a great idea to use it like this Although you can use some tape like @ilias; did. I personally just used the sticky mount part of the Proto and stuck it to the AP holder, and then attached it to the vent clip. And this is how I am mounting it at the moment. I pretty much drive my car like I stole it every chance I get, and it stayed in place for now, as long as I tighten the little wheel very good, and put the vent clip as tight as possible. This is because the V3 is about twice as heavy as the V2. This is how I'm rolling at the moment I have to say that with the dvd player, the gauges and the AP V2 and especially the V3, I never have moments where I'm bored in my car lol. All in all, I have to say I'm really pleased with the holder provided by COBB, with the magnet it's just a great holder. The mount is also pretty good, it's very solid, its just unfortunate that it doesn't have a vent clip, and especially a extension piece (like the one of Proto with the little wheel to tighten) that enables you to really put the AP in the position you want it to be. Also I really don't understand all the people complaining about automatically switching on/off. Sure, it would be practical, but I mean just hit the fucking on/off switch man, how much of problem can it be? COBB listened to us and others and did the on/off switch, and now we're bitching like "my dashhawk can go on/off automatically, why can't the AP V3?" Who cares man? COBB says their working on it and encountered some problems which I'm sure will be fixed in the near future. In the meantime JUST HIT THE ON/OFF SWITCH. I mean, damn.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks man, read sig lol, it's all there. Although I didn't do any test, I'm sure I've got something like ADD too lol. Edit: The dvd system is okay, not mind blowing or anything. But for the price you can't beat it.
