| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm slowly coming around to load tuning, although using a hybrid type between the comp tables. Fobio, Bluestreak and atvfreek convinced me to try it, and @ first, I was weighting things heavily in favor of boost tuning, but now have swung the opposite way. |

 boost tuning is for people who dont understand tuning and are only concerned with seeing 18psi on their gauge no matter what so that they are at a "safe" power level. little do they know that 18psi is night and day as far as power is concerned from summer to winter......

Had MBC set to hit 22psi, then it would creep (on its own) up to about 23-24psi. Yesterday it was 60* in the morning, and today it was 33* (WTF Texas?). The first log I took this morning hit around 27psi pretty quick in third gear. I pulled over and turned the mbc down a full turn. I then did a 4th gear log. Here is the vdyno from that 4th gear log. I had to cut it short when it creeped over 25psi... edit: this is on my 93oct map by the way. No e85...

I believe these are the smoothest AF and Boost curves I have had to date on my E85/Boost Tune which I was finally able to complete yesterday. I could use a bit more timing. 17 at RL in theses plots so maybe I could squeeze out 385WHP. Maybe lean her out a bit..IDK I really need a MAF triggered meth controller so I could rid myslef of those AF dips and improve spool a bit more with a leaner mixture. I may just change my WOT AF targets between 3-3.5k just to get my curves to look right. I have plenty of TQ if anybody wants some  *wonders how long seals will last*Anyone think I could add 20WHP with 100% E85 and break 400 WHP on a GT28? nah prab not....

Map change was AF target from 12.0 to 12.2 and a full degree of timing added above 5K. edit: and Ziggo I truly don't feel the 1.09 CF is cheating when it matches my real Dynojet logs. Maybe my DJ was calibrated low IDK. They are all different and I use this to measure change more than real world HP...but I do like to see a curve that ends up with +-400WHP Boosted Beluga likes this.

FWIW, I had to scale my MAF by 38% when I went 100% E85. EDIT: 39% increase overall. I forgot that it was 3% more of my 35% increased scaling. 1.35*1.03=1.39 Tapadatass

In fact... afaik, the oem tune (what we're calling load based) is still a "hybrid" of sorts... just that the load based influence simply dwarfs the boost based influence. I dunno... just thinking out loud. Lots of ways to skin the kitt3h... what matters most is what's in the logs, and how the car drives.

Boost-based tunes are definitely quicker to get setup for "safe" power, and IMHO are good for e-tunes and the like. Load-based tunes are more consistent from a power perspective, and seem to feel smoother in non-WOT operation. Tapadatass
