(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys so I'm torn on Which is the better turbo in terms of ease install and overall quality, only looking to put down about 380whp since I don't pan to build internal and want my engine to last. Since I think both of these can reach that goal easily what would you guys say is the pros and cons of both...... So far my only pro to the corksport is that it will still fit my 2.5in intake, so what do you guys think

| Not Ranked : 0 score My opinion, lower your goals a bit since you're a speed 6. I'm shooting for 350whp. 2nd: you shouldn't pick a turbo based on whether it fits your current intake or not. That's like buying a queen size bed because you already have the sheets, when deep down you really want the king. My pick is Corksport. But I have read about boost creep issues with high flow intakes and exhausts. Might not have that problem with BNR.

Also heard about ppl having problems with boostcreep when they first came out @CorkSport; has there been any revisions or anything to remedy this.

| Not Ranked : 0 score BNR S4. I guess the S4 v2 if it's coming out soon. Listen, you don't want to get a turbo where the turbo still has to get to the edge of its efficiency/high boost to hit your power goals. Get a higher flowing turbo that makes the same airflow at lower boost. The S4 is still spooled around 3600, so it's comparable to the CS, and it flows more. I have a BNR S3 and I'll be swapping in an S4 soon. S3 is fine, but I don't like boosting to 26-27psi with higher BATs to hit my flow/power goals. Considering the boost creep issues I read about on CS, it's kind of a no brainer to me.

To OP, I recently bought a CS turbo and have nothing but good things to say about it. I will mention, I have a small intake, though, so I can't really speak to the potential boost creep. Only boosting to 21 and tapering off a bit towards redline. The car is much better than stock and the turbo sound is fairly intoxicating. However, given your power goal, I would suggest S4 if I had to choose between the two. For a more relaxed, fun daily driver, I'd pick the CS every time.

Also, on pump gas you'll need quite a lot of boost for 380 crank HP. So you have to add meth for more and reach your 380 wHP goal. And even at 380 crank HP, the heat will not make your ringlands happy at all. They will last for a while though, depends how you use the car (if you'll use those 380 HP often or just build the car and then cruise around knowing you can have 380 at your disposal).

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've seen that you can properly tune the S4 to safely run almost 500WHP with methanol/E85 on the stock internals. I would have gotten that but I got a good deal on a used S3 and didn't really want to have to rev up my car more to get into boost + I liked the broader power-band of the S3 even thought the S4 power-band is still broader than the K04. I know BNR announced a new turbo being developed for the Mazdaspeed platform, is that the S4 V2? I thought it was going to be an S5 that was only for built engines. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score S5 will have an anti surge compressor housing according to BNR. The S4 v2 they removed the taper inside the compressor housing. My question is since they removed the taper on the updated version does that mean they changed the size of the compressor wheel for the v2?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I plan to swap in the CS that i just snagged yesterday from P2K at some point this summer, to add some moar powar to my DD. It's been suggested that porting the wastegate will likely help with the creep issue...anyone have any thoughts on that? It's something I'm considering having done before installing since we get cooold winters in WI and i know low temps will exacerbate the issue. Running 3" intake and catless RP but will most likely replace that with a Speed Daddy/M2/ebay DP to put in at the same time as the turbo.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok guys decided to go with the corksport turbo and 3 inch intake, 3.5bar sensor.... Is 330awhp on 93 and 350awhp on e85 realistic with those mods (other mods in sig)or am I aiming too high on the stock block. What should I really aim for on a stock block if I want it to last a while before I get internals. I really don't beat on the car much in really just an onramp highway puller. P.s. does anyone know if they have fixed the boost creep

| Not Ranked : 0 score My results....with mods in sig. Note I'm still using the stock TMIC, stock cat-back, and just shy of 18psi on pump 93. Also note, the attached vDyno log was taken in relatively cold May weather of 54 degrees. Tuff Gong's CP-e TMIC and muffler delete should help out quite a bit. Add a few more PSI than what I'm running and I think his goals are easily attainable.
