Car shut off at 140

My car seems to shut off after a long wot pull. I was racing my friend hit 140 and it shut off when I let off the gas and coasted In neutral. I was looking at my ap and the fuel pressure was around 1670 psi the whole time during the pull. Air fuels were good and the temp was good. When I started my car up it was at 228 on the temp which I think was caused by being hot and nothing to cool it off while sitting on the side of the highway. I used the search method but no one had the problem where it will start up fine after it shuts off.

The Speed 6 has a 149 mph speed limiter setting in the stock ECU. Of course, that can be raised in aftermarket tunes. Also, there can be speedometer error if tire size is changed and diameter is different. Taller tires, for instance, will make the speedometer read low. So a car going an indicated 140 may be going 150.

But OP is an idiot. Irrespective of the serious danger he created for others on a public highway, his now 14 year old car may simply have a weak engine and not able to produce enough horsepower to exceed a true 140.

I seem to recall in another thread that he had a smoking turbo and also has problems with the rear differential. Yet, he's taking that car out on a public highway making top speed runs where other people's girlfriends, wives and children are exposed to his stupidity.

I admit that I used to do stupid things like that, but fortunately outgrew that shit and was lucky to avoid killing anyone.

FWIW: It takes about 1100 feet, almost four football fields, to stop from 140 mph, if the brakes don't fade and go up in flames. Something to think about.

They make tracks for top speed tests, and an aging MS6 deserves better treatment.

You need to read up on how to modify this car correctly and quit that subie shit I told you about (re: trying to do donuts). Secondly, do a full tune up and change/check all the fluids throughout the drivetrain. Get to know the car and realize that with high miles on any motor with boost won't last very long if you 'race' it.
