E-30 mix

I'm considering getting an e30 tune but the nearest e85 pump is pretty far away so I was thinking about putting the mix into a couple of 10 gallon gas cans so I wouldn't have to drive to the gas station as much.

Doesn't anyone know if letting an e30 mix sit in a gas can would cause any problems like separation?

I have a 1 hour round trip to collect E85 and I store it for several months.
The main issue with storing ethanol is its ability to absorb moisture from the air.
It will keep fine as long as the can is full and sealed properly.

My advice if you want to do this is to purchase a number of 5 gallon cans to store.
Do your fills when the car is close to empty so you'll use the whole can for one fill. On my car, the fuel light comes on when there is approx 2 gallons left.
When you go to fill up add the can of Ethanol and fill the rest with gasoline. Eg 5 gallons of E85 then 7 gallons of gasoline will fill the tank and put you close to 35% ethanol (E35) assuming the petroleum is 100%.

In my case, (in Australia) I use containers of 11 litres (3 gallons). I purchase and store eight of these containers of Ethanol and use one at a time mixed with approx 35 litres (9.2 gallons) of gasoline - if I fill up when the fuel light comes on. If I don't make it to a fuel station for a while it might be up to 38 litres (10 gallons) of gas to fill. I have self tuned for my target ethanol percentage of approx 20% (E20) and it works very well for me.

Overall I really don't mind storing & mixing ethanol due to the jump in power, knock protection and the way the car feels on an ethanol mix. Some would call it inconvenient, but I like the process and benefits.

Be aware of local laws & insurance requirements for storing fuel. It should be kept in a cool dry place away from the house (Not in the back of your car!)

Have you considered meth? You could have a meth tune and a e85 just incase.

I’m an hour away from the e85 station. I take (5) 5 gallon gas cans with me and fill each with 4 gallons. Once my light comes on I’ll use one can and fill up with 93. I’m on a e30 mix. The car is not my daily so it gets driven once every couple weeks and to car meets if I can make it out. I filled up in October and just used my last jug this past weekend. All were stored fully sealed and there have been zero issues.
