Default smoking turbo?
So i just joined the forum a couple weeks ago...Sorry i havent had much input here...Anyway I have a 2009 speed 3 i recently did cobb intake and cobb downpipe which are great...just a huge difference from stock...plus aftermarket wheels which are 18x8 with 235/40/18 and its a great setup.....

Anyway i have had some smoke being blown under load from first gear to second gear at WOT....I was concerned.....

A buddy of mine who was a mazda mechanic had said that there is a certain amount of blow by that turbo cars had and that mine was most likely normal.....
I approached him today to ask him if he had heard about the PCV problem...And guess what he was well aware of it and had said that ford has had this problem for a while with certain models...So go figure its carried over to the mazdas now....
He said they would suggest using the 5w-40 oil...only because it took longer to see the problem of smoking....So if the dealer says they dont know whats wrong they are already steps ahead of us....they know..
That being said though i am all for the pt performance fix,Im just waiting for more smoke i guess....lol

Why wait to fix the problem when you could possibly prevent it, just some food for thought.

Smoke under WOT (as long as it black/brown ish) is fine.. these cars run pig rich.. if it a big blue cloud.. then your kinda fucked

Just ordered one. I am getting smoke while driving (not pouring smoke at idle yet), oil is also all over my intercooler so one of the seals is leaking. Not sure if this will fix it but for $25 might as well try.

Sorry I ordered both the PTP and bnoons bolt and got confused.

Yes I believe the PTP is in stock as I ordered on last wednesday and got a shipping notification on thursday. Ordered it from PTPs site.

Smoke is now pouring out the exhaust at idle, so its official 08.5 with the supposed "fixed" seals and 5W40 will not fix/prevent the smoke.

Mine also is an 08.5 metro grey. Smoked like a crack whore with the 5/40 full syn at idle. Put in the ptp pill and after 2 weeks no smoke and that was 20000 miles ago. I was ready to run the bitch into a quard rail at 50 and total it but all is good now.

Default oil in exhaust
So i'm a bit late lol. My msp was blowing unburnt oil out of the exhaust with original. I replaced the stock turbo with a Garrett ( disco potato ). Very shortly after I'm getting oil again blowing out of the exhaust when under boost. should I be looking at a pcv relocation or the option listed in this thread.
