Default Hardwire Dashhawk Power
I hard wired the Dashhawk power source today so it turns on and off with the ignition. First, carefully cut into the harness and verify with a meter which wire is the power source. Do this with the key off. In my case it was the orange wire. They are probably all the same, but it's best to check. Then cut the power wire, cap the end leading to the OBDII connector, and splice the other end to a +12v ignition source. Do it nice. Solder all connections. Use heat shrink tube.

No, it doesn't. I'm not certain, but I don't believe there is a switched ignition source in the OBDII connector. You can buy a DH cable with a power switch on it, but then you have to reach under the dash to switch it on and off every time.

Yes. The DH does turn off on its own when you turn the car off.
