With a custom tune you should be in the ballpark of 300hp at the wheels. Could be more or less depending on factors such as fuel and engine/turbo health.

I recommend going with Freektune.

Ambient air temps play a huge factor as well with power production (colder producing more power as it is more dense with oxygen). The nice thing about the k04 is that is doesn't suffer from uncontrollable boost creep in colder temps like some of the bigger bolt on turbos with IWG's. This allows you to make more power in varying temps at a fixed octane without worrying too much about excessive cylinder pressure causing knock.

Not if he's load tuned.

Air "mass" already accounts for temperature.

Load tuning keeps things in check, but it isn't perfect.

The density of oxygen in hot air is much lower than in cold air, and it retains a higher percentage of humidity which slows down the burn rate (similar to retarding the ignition timing).

Not to mention the stock turbski has to work a lot harder in hot weather to meet load/boost targets, making it a flamethrower.

To make more power with the stock turbo you would need a bigger intake, such as a 3" or 3.5" and a fuel mix of ethanol. the corksport intake is a stock size. Not to knock it but it is a limiting factor.

With all the parts you are throwing at it and a good tune from Freektune you will be happy. The power doesn't sound like much but your car will put a smile on your face every time you put your foot into it.

300whp might even be a bit of a stretch with their stock size intake and their intercooler size.

To eclipse 300wheel with the K04, you'd probably need full exhaust too. Unless that's part of the "power package".

That said, I will have to agree with above. Your stock sized intake will be your Achilles' heel for 300whp. Unless E85 tuned.

3" would be plenty for K04. I want to say it flows enough for about 350whp...I think. There's a thread on here somewhere that lays out the limits for each size.

I'll check my stock tune to see what the g/s reading is for 4.9 MAF volts.

It's not quite accurate, but not too far off either to use air mass to calculate HP.

so stock clutch and flywheel are good then
Until it isn't.

Ditto Jake. I only have vDyno numbers, but what really matters is the "oh shit" look on the V8 faces.

I ran a C5 vette the other day from 80-120, in Mexico, and he only pulled maybe a car length on me. Granted it's the slower vette with only 350crank, but I'm crazy mild tuned right now given my mods and the Speed6's are fat ladies compared to the C5. Ran 3-4 times cause he couldn't believe it. Got a thumbs up out of him.

OP, stop chasing numbers man that shit is going to upset and disappoint you. Buying those mods and expecting to hit a certain level of power is pointless because so many variables are at play such as outside temp, health of your engine, turbo health, type of dyno used... and the list goes on and on. Just mod your car as you like and enjoy the gains as they come. If you’re so inclined to know what power level you put to the ground, hit the dyno after you’ve finished all mods and are custom tuned or just use the Vdyno function. I like to think my car is fairly quick, but I have no idea what I put to the ground. I just enjoy looks on guys faces driving the big V8’s who can’t pull on me on the highway.

300whp on stage2 stock fuel and intake during summer time....you may need a dyno a bit optimistic...
As other said, start with this and enjoy ! It is near a 25% gain on hp but you can easily get more in torque......
Then if you feel it is not enough (or/and you still have spare money....) get a small turbo upgrade...(I just put a gt28 on my and it was like night and day)

For my set up (key word "my"), the g/s reading aligns nearly spot on to what vDyno plots. Different fuel, base timing curves, etc will skew that relationship on another car.
The flamethrower04 no doubt will cause a few degrees of timing to be pulled due to BATs, but at least he's using something better than the stock TMIC, which I'm still rocking hardcore.

My higher mileage original stock clutch started to slip at 320 lb ft in freezing temps. Summer came around and I no longer had any issues. It may have been due to less torque or cold mating surfaces. I replaced it with an oem disc and flywheel, and got rid of the worn out oem dual mass fw which would vibe on decel. Instead I went with a fidanza fw, and aside from the chatter it's perfect, and revs faster and is super smooth on decel. I've read that people have taken this setup to 400 lb ft. For how long idk. I think it depends on how worn out the assembly is but it is great for daily driving.

Nice so more airflow equates to more power? How many g/s are you flowing with the CS turbo and stock TMIC?

Not necessarily so, although generally true.

There are other factors. Air to fuel ratio changes and timing changes in the tune affect this, especially on forced induction engines. If the AFR is rich enough, as is typically the case with forced induction engines at high load, high rpm, and you are able to advance timing more due to cylinder cooling from the rich fuel without encountering knock, you can see power gains from the timing increase, even if g/s remains the same.

I hope this makes sense. You'd be amazed at the top end power gains to be had with increasing timing on the same g/s air flow, if you can control knock.

But, yes, if all else remains the same, generally speaking, increasing g/s flow increases power.

You can hit 300/300 on the K04 on 93 octane with stock diameter intake, if a properly designed SRI or CAI, a 3" dp/rp, upgraded hpfp internals and a decent tune. You will be hard pressed to do much better without ethanol and a tune for it. Note this was SAE corrected in 90 degrees temp and with 1.01 correction factor in Virtual Dyno.

Sometime last year, around 70 degrees, 4th gear pull,I was flowing about 295g/s and vDyno calculated the same peak whp. I had stock cat-back on at the time as well.
Because Build Threads Are A Thing

A few weeks back, I installed the Magnaflow CBE. Didn't really see any gains, but I did have to drastically scale back the WGDC base table. Proof that even at my relatively weak power level, the stock system is a restriction.

Last night, and more tonight, I turned it up just a little. Now seeing 315g/s in a 3rd gear pull. I'm expecting slightly more with a 4th gear pull, which I'll try to do tomorrow. I don't have an up-to-date vDyno though as it's not something I routinely do.

I am fully aware that I am still playing in K04 territory. Despite having great compression numbers (although it's been a while since I checked it), I can smell that it burns oil and others have told me it smokes when I get on it. So I have been taking it easy until the new engine is built.

I think you'll see some nice gains with an upgraded intercooler that flows better. As for oil consumption, I'm having the same symptoms with my S4. I'm thinking it's mostly related to too much crankcase pressure inhibiting the oil from the turbo from draining back into the sump. I'm going to install a Gen 2 vc and sp63 oil breather cap today and see if the smoking and oil consumption stops. It's got good compression 180 psi across the board, so hopefully this is the issue and I can start turning it up😀

I have 2 catch cans. I'm leaning towards clogged up oil rings and it's been mentioned that it could be valve seals.

Once the forged build is done, I have parts on order for a custom and excessively expensive W2A setup. Not that cheap FrozenBoost crap.

I read about some rules of thumb that say 1lbs/min of air can make an engine to produce around 9 to 10 crank hp (Turbo map even claim 11....)This can be translated to a power potential of 1.2 to 1.3 crank hp per g/s....
But it doesn't account for air temp, timing, compression and AFR....or even Maf scale errors...

Using that 1.2-1.3 g/s per crank HP:
Remove drivetrain losses and you're pretty close to 1g/s per WHP, which is what I'm seeing.
