I just had GREAT Service from PTP/Tork Motorsports

I have dealt with PTP/John in the past and never had anything to really rave about or complain about but I thought it relevant to explain my experience I just had today. Most people would look at someones car like mine or anyone whos got major money and think we are made of money but the reality is we are all just making it by like anyone else doing 200 bucks here and 200 there to get where we are, my build is a result of non stop money from May of 2008 when i rolled off the lot with 6 Miles on the Odometer.
I feel PTP understands this and I cannt get too specific but they made a more than reasonable compromise on Price for an important part of my Build which will help yield me better results. I have not spent thousands with PTP to give them a reason to help me out but long story short they saved me about 70$ in cost + shipping for the item i needed, patiently answered all of my questions and allowed me to make a purchase more comfortably.

I cant say the same for all Experiences with other vendors such as when i got my DCR vvt, Darrell was very reluctant to answer my questions, answered them half assed and I still dont think he was even fucking listening to me.

So this is a shout out to anyone skeptical about dealing with PTP but I have never had a reason to say anything bad about them, and I hope this information is helpful to anyone considering their products and I feel a couple of them are unique to the market and Would benefit everyone to consider this company as an option to buy parts.

I have spent more then 25k on my car mods wise over the years and If i felt buying from PTP would harm my vehicle or hinder my performance or waste my time in any way I would not do it, but I feel I can purchase from them freely without issue.

To recap I got a good price, all my questions answered, I got the product I needed and I feel completely secure with what I purchased.

Sounds like every experience I've ever had dealing with John / PTP.
I got most of the parts I had in my srt from ptp, never had a problem. Wish they made a few more parts for the ms3.

I did this out of my Own idea because of the GOOD SERVICE i experienced which is the whole point of this thread, i did not even speak to john directly just so you know ...

I asked for a better price and I got what i asked for, and they had NO incentive to do so for me other then giving good service

and also in my store we on purpose over mark shit because everyone and their mother comes in expecting us to knock 100$ off a computer ..... there has to be the room to provide the customer the feeling of getting a good deal. not saying johns pricing has a fucking single thing to do with this but thats what I do as a salesman mark it for 50-100 more then I really need to sell it for so in the end I always come back to the number I need to make and as well sometimes people dont ask for a discount and pay the higher price, then there are customer who ask for a deal then get it and keep asking for less they act like shit is free...

So you gotta know when to give discounts and when to tell people know, sometimes giving a discount is the worst thing you can do ina business because people make it a low standard for you and then expect it to be sold at cost every time, you need to understand when someone gives you a discount does not mean they can do it every time and people should pay more respect to businesses and their pricing, just because you can goto walmart and get the same thing cheaper is completely different then buying it, stocking it, packaging it, marketing, installing items for customer all of the Service part of it should reflect in the pricing and thats why online is cheaper, NO service less overhead its too easy to sell for less PLUS you got online pricing competition.



Long story short IF THEY SAID NO I WOULDA PAID FULL PRICE END OF STORY AND STILL BE SMILING.

however i probably would not of gone out of my way to make this thread and share my opinion and experience with them. So a couple things about business you prolly have no fucking idea..... Advertisement, radio, paysite clicks, billboards, signs, banners this shit cost money..........

You are absolutely correct. Not the fastest until we prove it. Hopefully, that will happen in a couple of months when the tracks open up around here. In the meantime, my car is my daily driver and everything we have done to the car has been done with that kept in mind as well.

for the particular item i knew the markup had room to come down, this does not mean he had to lower it, and honestly for the part he has and noone has been able to match it in its current state and form you cant get it anywhere else so he can charge what the fuck ever he wants, he did the research and when you put time and r and d in you gotta get your money.

When you goto the doctor whether he diagnose you in 2 seconds or 3 weeks its not that he did it so fast its that the doctor went through hell and back with school to get to the point they are at and thats why they get paid what they do, you are paying for johns r and d and time and its worth it because you cant fucking show me with someone with a comparable product.

IN ANY EVENT you are coming at this thread the wrong way, he does not owe me or anyone anything and yes I simply asked for a better price I stated a preffered number and they granted it and then shipped for free. there was no other dialogue other than explaining i was a previous customer and have known to get better deals by ordering over the phone and they came through for me.

as far as bridges being burned I would not be surprised to see John back in motion again with us by his side as customers.

I am not going to share that info but anyone with a fucking brain can use process of elimination and figure it out. I don't want people asking for the same price and blah blah I just want to point out they have good service and highlight the biggest reasons why I am a happy customer today.

Big respect to John for what hes gone through and where he is now, half of you dont even probably remember how he went like bankrupt(i dont know if that was true but hey when you listen to rumors...) and shit and is STILL running his business and I feel he deserves every bit of gratification and profits he will be getting.

That air straightener looks a lot more legit than what he was selling, which was pretty much chicken wire.

Ptp had some decent stuff over the years. What I didn't like was his snake oil products and how defensive/butt hurt/emo he got when questioned or criticitzed. Another thing was how me marketed some stuff....maf screen for example, I remember the thread having stuff like "must have mod", "I actually like driving my car again", "probably gained 20whp".

I read all of the old threads, and know 90% of what was involved, but I also know how quick people are on here to black list someone, especially if everyone is hopping on the band wagon.

I'd like to think people learn from their mistakes, and I know a couple of the gen2 guys have been given excellent service from John.

I have been known to suck from the PTP teet from time to time. Never had a bad experience with John and I don't believe I ever jumped on the hate bandwagon. Glad to know he's got his shit together and cleared up with some of the rest of you.

I never had a problem with john . I talk to him about my build all the time. I still have the highest number on a stock block and my clutch was slipping . Off meth I pull 470 to 490g/s on 93 I've never seen anyone pull that. On meth I pull over 600 on a stock block. I say he earned another shot. Erics car is nuts and there's nothing anyone can say about that.

Haven't been on the dyno for the tune as it is now. I am estimating the number. The tune is based on my single nozzle S259 tune that put down 425-430 (if I remember correctly). The single nozzle is larger now and so is the turbo. Timing is also a little more aggressive. Based on the things I have seen working with John on the dyno, as well as the way the car behaves on the road, 450 is a valid estimation of the tune I am running daily right now. If that makes me a liar in your eyes or you don't want to believe me so be it.

Actually we had 5 or 6 pulls over 600 (including the 8000 RPM pull) and all except the 8000 RPM pull were nice and smooth graphs (torque, power, AFR and boost.) Car sounds really clean on all pulls (excluding the top end of the 8000RPM pull) and I have no problems believing we can reproduce our #'s as many times as we want.
