(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This would get rid of the crappy self adjusting PP and you would have at least 3 options for different disk material as well as full face and puck style. We might be able to get 2 different pressure plate ratings as well but we are limited to what we have for options. Prices would be around $1000 a pop but they would come with all the hardware, flywheel, PP, disk and TOB (if affordable) in one complete kit. I have the flywheel at the machine shop and they are looking for differnet ring gear options that will work. I have the pressure plate sitting at the clutch "guys" for them to work there majic on finding the right PP to work with the flywheel. This should get rid of 40lb of rotating mass on the rear of the motor, which would net much quicker spool times of the motor and should get the car down the track with a 3 to 4 MPH gain in the 1/4 mile. Let me know if you would like to see this so I can get a number over to the machine shop for "possible" marketing. If no one wants this I will be doing one for myself and moving on with it... more or less it will cost me $2500 for one clutch and I will through away the design pattern for it if no interests are there for a better clutch. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I wish it worked that way. It will have to be different then the replacment or the SPEC units. This is the only way we can get away with a better PP and some bigger disk's or better materials for the disks. More or less you screwed with your SPEC set up, sorry. To all the other guys, thanks for the turn out on this. I have been told that the persons watching this thread was surprised with the outcome. Keep them coming. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I wish this was available a couple of months ago. When I blew my trans, I went looking for what was available, and all I could find was the Spec clutch and no flywheel. So, I just got my stock flywheel resurfaced. (Yes, you can, in case you have heard you can't...) But, now that it is done, well, I'm not anxious to tear apart the trans again. I will say that if someday in the future I need a clutch again, and you have a clutch/flywheel product available, I will likely buy it. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Would be very interested when a replacement is required. I would want a clutch with near stock manners (zero chatter when slipping at any RPM) that can hold ~400 FWTQ. That should cover me for all future power upgrades. Does this fit your plans? |

We will offer full face clutch disks so that will cure any "chatter" that you would get from a puck style set up.

I would have to say that the stock clutch can not handle more then 370 to 400 WTQ. We use to be able to leave black marks on the road when we shifted to 2nd gear in our car... not anymore and it smells funny now after we do a hard pull. Time for a clutch if you ask me. When you do over power it at least you will have an option on the market with a light weight flywheel (maybe). I will be talking with the clutch shop next week so we can get this figured out. Thanks guys.

It will be a good option for those that are stock or a little over stock power levels. When you start to get into the high 300 or 400 range that stock PP will become a huge problem.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score The amount of work that goes into a ground up built for a new clutch is crazy. With our set up we are switching out the stock PP and disk and the flywheel has to be drilled for that PP application. Then we have to fit it under the stock bell housing. Not easy to do but thank god they made the disk a sprung unit (not normal when you have a dual mass flywheel like the MS3 and 6 have). This should give us that little extra room that we needed. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Is there any interest in different weights on the flywheels. I imagine that the speed3's could use a lighter flywheel than the speed6's. No first hand experience, but from what I have read is that if you go too light on the flywheel on an awd car it becomes a major bitch to keep the car from stalling when you pull out. They take a little more rotational mass than say front or rear wheel drive vehicles to operate smoothly. Any truth to this?? |
