Default MS6 rpm rattle

Hey guys, I have a 2007 MS6 that I acquired back in July, rebuilt the head and got it back on the road. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light or point to a possible solution for a rattle that seems to be present between about 2500-2800 rpm. I saw a previous post back from 2012 but didn't seem to offer any solution. I have CPE HPFP and an accessport right now. Basically in any gear either going up the rpm or coming down there is a metallic rattle that is audible to the driver. I have looked all over and I can't find anything that should be vibrating like that.

I think it has something to do with the exhaust, but I am not 100% sure, need to inspect heat shields under the car, I tightened all the shrouds around the exhaust manifold and the turbo.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

No one can help you with this as it can be anything. A tool you dropped, a loose shield, a loose bolt. Etc. You need to pinpoint the location of the noise. Was the noise present before you did all the work?

I wouldn't be able to tell you, the engine was shaking rather violently because it didn't have compression in cylinder 2, still ran but not very well. I will see if there is a loose bolt somewhere, the next time I am under the car. Thanks for the feedback.

I found my rattle, a heat shield on my 2nd cat, just need to go full turbo back exhaust and no more rattle, thanks thor hammer for the kick in the ass, I just thought there might be a common issue that would cause a rattle. Appreciate the help and all the views.

If you go full turbo back, replacing the stock dp and cats, you must have a different tune or you will get nasty boost spikes and probably get fuel cut. A high flow catted dp or catless dp will produce good gains, if you tune for it.
