Might be hard to go from AWD to FWD. What mods did you have on your car?

I was asking because I don't know how much you enjoy modding.

Do you care what platform it is? Are you a fanboy of Mazda or just speed in general. Do go to the strip, or autocross, etc.

Quite a few people have been splitting off towards the newer mustangs, or Evos.

I am a fan of Mazda but it's mainly the speed..have not been to any tracks or auto cross

I'm just getting into modding so I have a lot to learn

Buy the car back, cage it, then hit the track.

Get a PU if you daily drive it. Sure FWD may not be as fun as AWD, but the overall car is better to live with.

going to have to disagree, a speed 6 in gt trim is far more comfortable than a speed 3.

I'm speaking more on the lines that the PU has GPS and Bluetooth with easy iPod hookup and is a hatchback. For daily use is far better then a MS6. Comfort is subjective but being able to fit things in the hatch and talk on the phone without causing an accident and big advantages. Either way both of our opinions could be considered biased.

I used to have a genjuan and now have an MS6 and I'm going to agree with the MS6 being more comfortable. It has a LOT more room in the cabin. For example, my right knee was always cramped against the center console/dash with the seat all the way back in the MS3 and I can't even drive with the seat all the way back in the MS6. It is heavier and the AWD system loves to break. I still like the genjuans styling more than I like the MS6's styling.

Really!!!! You are comparing a 2006 model vs 2013 model we all know 2013 will beat 2006 in technology just cover something that is not obvious. they talking about wich one is more comfortable for dd or long drives.

When my old ms6 was totaled I thought about what to get and it always came back to the ms6. I had to drive 11 hours straight in one day to get my ms6 and I wouldn't want any other car for what my price range was. AWD, Turbo, Luxury, Heated seats, Navi, Great car community. Can't beat a mazdaspeed.

There was a MS6 for sale for ~$3k with a blown motor if I remember correctly from the mazda facebook group, and I'm sure there are plenty more around. I'd consider a transplant if your motor is still good.

I agree with caging it. I've been pondering over the what I will do in this scenario the last few weeks, can't say a pinto hasn't crossed my mind. I say strip the front end down weld up a sand rail style front end with a mean looking Mad Max style bumper. Drop weight, great air flow, and more accessibility for wrenching.

Find yourself a Subaru Legacy GT... It's a mazdaspeed 6 in Subaru form pretty much mod for mod you'll make around the same power if you only plan on having full bolton's... and did I mention with the right exhaust it sounds tits?

Depending on your location. The legacy gt's are incredibly hard to find, and find at a decent price. I was dead set on a gt before I bought my ms6 but waited 6+ for one and nothing. Ran into the ms6 while checking out a 330i and the rest is history.

Sorry about your loss, the white ms6 are pure sex!

They are fairly difficult to find but they seem to pop up at random times. Last spring there were quite a few listings for lgts around where I am under 80k miles and 16k hell I'm kind of hating myself for not picking up a spec b with 56k miles but I do love my speed so meh

+1 on the Legacy Spec B. IIRC some STI parts bolt right up. I asked a local dealer to find one for me - never heard back from them.

+1 on Evo that's not been dogged.

Or a WRX I can't imagine life w/o turbo AWD.

I kinda feel like the spec b is a little overrated. And idk if the extra premium is worth it other than the obvious bling factor.

PS a fair amount of the sti parts bolt up to the lgt. Its been awhile but the lgt is mod friendly as well, with their openecu tuning

I appreciate the feedback guys... I might go with an Evo or a Subaru if numbers are right

Or even a ms6 if I find one..not sure if I can do the whole swap since I am a newbie to the whole modding life and do have a lot to learn
