(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hello all. Well I decided to be a broke college kid and buy the cheapest intake i could grab for my 06 MS6, a DC sports CAI off of amazon. I currently have a turbosmart hybrid BOV. Otherwise everything else is stock. Anyway, I got the CAI and decided i really disliked how deep it went into the fender well. I really want to avoid it sucking water on a rainy day, since this car is my daily. Also, the rear of the intake where the CCV hose goes was in a horrible spot and didnt even fit. so i cut down the intake to basically the center portion. Keeping the old stock CCV tube section (rubber inlet hose) and stuck the intake with the MAF portion to the end. after installing this essentially SRI, i started to notice when coming to a stop, my rpm will creep down to around 500rpm, so i figured my BOV needed to be re-adjusted. so after tightening it down to its hardest spring setting, its a bit better but when coming into a parking sport or rolling to a stop sign, the rpm will drop, the car will kind of shudder a bit, then go back to around 800-900 rpm. I hooked up my scan tool, fuel trims are good. both ST and LT right around -3%. Which is acceptable. 02 voltage also seems adequate. I dont have a tune on the car so maybe this is just the issue. Should i take the CAI off until i get a tune? slightly conflicted. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score the intake is the same diameter as the stock. However what are the real risks? especially considering i dont have HPFP internals. Should I just revert back to the stock intake until i get a cobb apv3 & HPFP? really dont want to lean out.. |
