no resonator question!

im sure this is on here somewhere but couldn't find it, does anybody have all 3 resonators removed and just a straight pipe cat back, just wondering how different it is from having 2 of them gone is it any louder and is the sound that much different not concerned about hp gains at this point more of how it sounds want more of a wrx sound thanks

It sounds more like a dump truck with resonators/muffler removed.

If you want the WRX sound, you'll probably need a new catback and a downpipe.

ya ive heard a couple one that sounded like that but they also had the cats gone to i plan i leaving them on

I have tried researching this also. from what i gathered once its all straight pipe you get drone and wouldnt be the wrx sound. Ive never heard it personally, just what ive read.

the one kid i talked to that had it said it was almost the same as having two gone but it was a lil louder, just wanted to see some other options im surprised no one else has tried this haha the ones that i have heard sound like a dump truck is with the second cat gone the closest vid i could find on youtube is one guy who has them all gone + a test pipe seems to loud but sounds pretty good

im just using a wrx for reference to describe the sound i want dont no how else to describe it, bubbly, gurgley? or like a cobb turbo back but im broke as shit lol

Keep the cats, i think thats what but that over the edge.

IMO just the two resonators removed is a good balance. a little quieter than you might want but a good tone and probably the best you'll do short of buying a turbo back.

I have one out now and might pull the other but leave the muffler and cats until its time to do the real thing.... HPFP, FMIC, DP, and meth come first though.

i did the CS turbo back and it actually wasnt that bad but when i went big turbo the drone was what killed it for me but magnaflow actually makes straight through mufflers that fit under our car if you want the power but not the drone. good luck with your decision.

ya i think thats because of the cat every one ive heard so far with the cat gone sounded like a truck not good at all i dont see taking the one resonator off making it sound that bad, after all taking two off dident really make that much of a difference, i may just unbolt the cat back and see what it sounds like if it sounds bad ill just leave it alone

That sounds great under WOT but sounds like when you have a massive headache or just want to cruise and be discrete its gonna be awfully hard to stay quiet. I think Im just gonna yank 2 resonators.

2 Resonators actually sounds pretty good when you take it off. Dont take off everything because it sounds soo awful

ok well i took the last one off haha it doesn't sound bad at all if you like it lound kinda srt-4 ish youll love it as for me im prob gonna leave it off for the next couple months then put it back on because its a lil to much and i think it sounds a lil better with just 2 but its all personal opinion
