Is it normal to have a faulty temperature sensor?

I've noticed that my car coolant temperature is fluctuating constantly about 10-15 degrees.

It instantly measures completely different values, it flickers.

A couple of years ago, I replaced the thermostat, but I never knew about coolant temperature sensor failures in the MS3.

Where is it placed? I cannot find any video tutorial as it doesn't seem to be normal.

Cut the wires for quick fix.

It’s really weird as It sometimes measures about 15 degrees colder than it really is.

However, the last time I drove the car in the highway it measured normal temperatures, as soon as I went full throttle coolant temperature rose from 75 to normal 90’s and it measured correctly till I stopped the car.

Both thermostat and temperature sensor replaced.

How did you bleed the coolant system after you replaced everything? Got engine up to operating temp, rev'd it to 3k RPM for a few minutes, repeated 3-4 times?

edit: Blink fluid cap comment was a joke.

Now cruising at 120 kmh or 70 mph and coolant stays below 70's, no matter I drive faster or slower.
