Spoke with Mathew up at RPMC and we've worked out the initial order of RPMC turbo inlets for the Mazdaspeed3. We'll be stocking these units now and we've got something in the very short term that will work with and supplement it very well. More on that later.

We've been direct with Racing Beat since the Protege days and I'm a huge fan of the product. I waited six months for thier first Protege5 catback exhaust and loved it. Build quality is phenomenal and sound was the best of any catback I'd tried for that car. I've also run thier springs, carburetor kits, swaybars, clutches and flywheels on my RX7. So you can see, I am a loyal RB guy. The exhaust for the Speed3 is here and it offers a unique take on the MS3 catback. Well worth checking out.

I still think my inlet is a teeny bit better, though, admitedly, very minimally. I had considered contact PG and/or other people to see if they'd be interested in selling mine. Mine is single piece mandrel bent rather than two-piece welded. I also beaded the pipe ends. Our parts look similar, but I did not copy, I designed mine before finding out about RPMC's.

The stock part on the MS3, MS6 and CX-7 are all the same. So, the RMPC product will fit them all. I also am making a similar product. The designs are similar, but, I came up with it independently, I didn't know about the RMPC product until after I had designed mine. Mine is has the main pipe single piece mandrel bent instead of welded from two pieces. Also, mine has the ends beaded. Otherwise, they look similar.

I've had GB on 6club, and I don't think I got any negative reviews, and lots of positive ones. I've sold about 50 in that GB so far. That is small enough numbers that I didn't think it was practical for me to offer ceramic. Some buyers had it done on their own, or painted it on their own. But, if someone like PG were to sell it, the might choose to offer ceramic or powercoating.

He didn't sell his company as far as I know. I was involved with him this summer helping to ship out the initial batch. I bailed out after the first batch due to lack of time. He took over shipping for the second batch, his ceramic coater fucked him and his computer went tits up among other things. There were a few people with ceramic coating options that didn't get their inlets on time due to a crappy ceramic coating job. He just hit a long string of bad luck, but I have to tell ya, Matt is a man of his word and will always step up to the plate to make a customer happy (as in you getting a free $200 inlet).

Not too many retailers will do that, most charge a restocking fee for cancelled orders because of delays. I have been waiting for a motor mount for almost 2 months without getting much status and now have to pay to cancel the order.

I have refrained from ever responding to your "my inlet is better" comments for a long time, but you write it on every thread about the RPMC inlet.

If you are selling a product, it is not professional to compare your product to another by name. It's more respectable to write "my inlet is better than the competition, because of......"

fwiw, its been resolved. the rpmc crew are good guys, and once they realized what was up they resolved it. never did get the ceramic coated one, aparently trying to get that option is what delayed it so much

I've never really cared for the "brand X" approach in advertising. You've got a good product, honestly. If I had known about yours when I designed mine, I wouldn't have bothered. There is also the ATP, which nobody is using because its garbage. Some silicone choices are on the horizon. But, at least at the moment, there is basically yours and mine. So, why refer to yours as "brand X"?

It's not mine!! I designed it and gave it to RPMC. I never had the time to do it all by myself.

Okay, your design then. I'm not sure it was worth my time either, its just been mainly a hobby project. Its kinda cool having people all over the country, and even in some other countries using a part I designed. But, its not been a huge money maker.
