I got 3 letters in the mail for me, The wiper motor recall, the VVT and the turbo replacement. After watching the VVT video, mine dont sound like that, it sounds close to getting to that point but not like the video, and its been about 20ish for the past 3 days here. and my turbo doesnt smoke but maybe i could sweet talk them into doing all 3 and be done with it... Ha yeah right

If you fall under the 84 month 70K miles, great. IF not. Go find a couch, and have intercourse with it.

Nice. The only reason I'd have gotten an extended warranty would be for the VVT and turbo bullshit. But 100,000 miles was more than the replacement.

If the smoke is already pouring out, swapping the turbo is the best option. IMO, the pile of parts are preventive, not a solution.

Our cx7 filled the occ and had a turbo swap 40k miles ago. No smoke. Pcv itself was coated through and through with black oily shit today.

My ms3 has the original turbo and the occ usually gives me 1/4 to 1/2 cup of shit every 2 months.

I got the ventilation kit done, and it fixed my smoking completely. I had the catch can and checkvalve well before it started smoking. Once the smoke got progressively worse and worse, when it would start to smoke within about 45s of idling, tried bnoon's bolt. No luck. Got desperate for something, and found a generous dude to do the vent kit for me. 100% fixed the problem.

ha...ask @NJSPEED3 about sitting in the drivethrough how bad that shit was. I haven't seen it smoke since.

Just got my letter today. Car was manufactured 12/05 with 42K miles and I currently have both issues. As far as "stocking out" goes, I think I'm SOL, I messed up my stock DP installing the new one three weeks ago. Is it even worth taking it in and stocking the rest (intake, BPV)? I've dealt with the service manager before and he is always pretty cool. Any thoughts? I thought the dealers had to prove the mod can cause the issue to deny the service?

Mine doesnt make noise during start up, but I'm in warranty. Are they replacing it with another vvt or is it a whole new concept?

There would be no point of me taking it in unless they're replaced the old idea, but I doubt they've done that

Out of warranty like me means SOL, unless you have been to the dealer for the problem before warranty went out.

Just got my letterz today and called mazda corp and got the ball rolling with my reimbursement claim for my self installed ventilation kit and my bnr turbo. Terry@Mazda USA said it would be up to the warranty dept to validage my my claim. I told him mazda refused to give me the ventilation kit and also refused to give me a new turbo. I will be sending in receipts asap to get my mothafuckin money back for their original fucked jp shitty partz which i argued originally with them. Wtf

i got both of my letters in the mail last night and promptly stuck them behind the glove box for when i need them.

smokey turbo - smoked a few times w/ ac on but no longer with raised idle, bnoon bolt, rotella, occ and ptp pill. don't think i'll need this one.

vvt - i'll take it in for this before i hit 70k regardless of whether it's bad or not so call me a freeloader.

as far as stocking out goes, hopefully you have built up some sort of relationship with your service manager to gauge what you can get away with.

mine would be cool, but i'd go back to stock tune, tmic, tip and air box. his biggest concern was the non-stock tune.

The idiots at the dealership I go to actually told me I was eligible for the extension but my chain was still good.

I have an '07 with 169k miles

Also, when I was there they did the shutter valve recall on my car and i still get that loud vvt noise on start up. They told me the shutter valve would fix that noise and it didn't. Are these guys just idiots or was it really suppose to fix it?

On another note, I think i'm going to find a different Mazda stealership to go to

There's a bulletin on the variable intake runners sticking...that's probably what they replaced.
But it just sets a code, doesnt make noise.

Im at 26000 ish. My vvt is noisy but I am unsure if I have the problem. Also I didn't receive paper regarding the turbo. Also don't know if I have this problem. I see no smoke but cats could be hiding that.
