Default selling, go back to stock or not?

I got a 07 MS-3 that had a rod knock with a few goodies on it, a AP was removed from a previous previous owner then was driven for about a year without one then it lost a rod bearing on #4 and I came along and bought the car.

I have 7 other project car's and a race car to throw money at and only have enough room to work on em one at a time, so decided to let this one go after I fix it.

list of upgrade's:
gen2 2013 engine swap, (was low millage before rebuild,28k)
Factory mazdaspeed cold air intake.
Cobb turbo back exhaust.
Cobb TIP.
Fuel pump internals.

Car upgrade's:
Megan racing coil over's front and back.
rear strut brace.
EBC slotted rotor's

I am at a crossroad with taking it back to stock and selling everything for more $$ or buying a AP and keep all the parts on it.

a friend of mine thinks it will sell faster and for just as much with out all the performance parts sense it will have a rebuilt engine.

but....go fast

It will have to be tuned to run that turboback exhaust safely.

I would suggest you either remove the downpipe/racepipe (go back to stock), in order to sell it to someone who will not quickly blow up that refreshed engine. It's not safe without a tune. That may be why it blew before with the tune removed and the turbo back still in place.

A 3" dp/rp on stock tune, even with pump internals, is not compatible. It will have very nasty, dangerous boost spikes well above the 22 psi that your MAP sensor can read, and may well outright boost creep to dangerous levels in the higher gears under load.

I'm sure that's why it went the car was running pretty rich from the looks of it, the plugs, turbo, valve's,port's have as much soot build up as my super duty (especially on cyl#4). haha

If I keep the parts on it I will definitely buy a used AP to go with the car, i'm going to drive it for awhile to make sure there are no issue's for the new owner.

Just need to decide if I should take it back to stock (witch I will probably make more money selling the Cobb parts)
or keep it how it is (but spend a extra $400 and hope to get that back).

In my mind if I take it back to stock then there is nothing special about it apart from having a fresh engine and anyone who buy's one of these is going to add the same parts on it so i'm saving them time and money.

but apparently i'm wrong about that?

Put the stock downpipe and midpipe back on if you are going to drive it without a tune. At least put the stock downpipe back on or you are likely to blow the engine on stock tune. Just saying . . .

As to your selling options, I can't say which might be better. Depends on your target market. I sold mine in January to another board member here with all the bolt-ons and tune in place. But, I was the original owner, the history of the car and its mods was well-documented here, and there was no one other than me in the ownership chain. The purchaser wanted the car in that form. I did not try to upcharge for the add-ons and sold on basis of published Blue Book value. I was not trying to make a profit on the car, more trying to simply find a good home for what had been a good friend for a long time.

For the general public, they very well might prefer the car to be in stock form and it is doubtful that the bolt-ons would add much value in that general market. In fact, performance mods might well make a purchaser shy away out of fear that the car had been abused (more than just the refreshed engine), or want to pay less than book value for that reason. It's very hard to say.

yeah, I definitely won't drive it without a tune if the parts stay on it.
